I got an email from my Rep this AM. Spouting the regular
"Jobs will be created when we cut taxes across the board, curb Washington's outrageous addiction to spending, and end unnecessary regulations that hold back our small businesses."

Then he referred me to a new GOP website that will
"map out our plan to empower small business owners and reduce regulatory burden, fix the tax code to help job creators, increase competitiveness for American manufacturers, encourage entrepreneurship and growth, maximize domestic energy production to ensure an energy policy for the 21st Century and pay down America's unsustainable debt burden and start living within our means. I urge the President to begin working with Congress to implement real world solutions to put America back on the right track. "

I'm passing the URL on for discussion. To me it is just the regular GOP spin and talking points.

Then he referred me to a new GOP website <snip>

My Republican Congressman Bill Flores, actually called my number so that I might participate in a "town hall" meeting over the phone.

He detailed the "high lights" of the Washington GOP talking points, and then referred us to the "link" that you provided so that we could get more information before he started taking questions about "issues that matter the most to my constituency."

Press #3 if you have a question.

A "volunteer" used to "screen calls" came on the line and asked me what my question was. The conversation went like this:

Call Screener: Thank you for holding. Do you have a question?

Me: I'd like to know how those Republican Talking Points from Washington are going to help the constituency of Texas Congressional District 17?

Call Screener: So what's your question?

Me: I've read Obama's plan, I've read the House Republicans plan. I'd like to know how Congressman Flores feels that the GOP plan is better, and how it's going to help the voters within his District?

Call Screener: We'll see if the Congressman has the time to answer your question.

One hour Twenty Minutes Later: I got tired of waiting and hung up.

Then he turned around and bought his Congressional Seat with $2.6 million of his own money.

He wasn't interested in answering my question because he can't honestly explain how the GOP talking points outlined in the link provided having any bearing on anyone but the most wealthy *cough* excuse "The Job Creators."

Yep! That's "my" Representative. ..|

This is what is wrong with America.

Everyone expects special treatment. Their question is the most important.

Other constituents questions dont matter. I expect to be served first.

I can just imagine Centexfarmer saying ""Put me to the front of the line. I am important."

You'd obviously be to busy "rubbing one out" while watching FOX NEWS to even both answering the phone, much less being able to form a question that didn't sound like your were kissing Republican ass.

After one hour twenty minutes, it was clear that my question wasn't going to be answered.

How long do you wait on the phone?

What's an acceptable amount of time for justapixel?

Next time you've got a complaint about how we're Moderating around here I have one for you:

I would wait until the town hall meeting was over.

How long could it last?

I wouldnt post on an internet board that "I didnt get special treatment so I hung up".

How long to you think that a "phoned in" town hall meeting lasts?

How about a regular town hall meeting. Ever attended one?
