A question about butt plugs (and lube)

No time like a pandemic and a serious lockdown (here in Melbourne, Australia) for thinking about upgrading one's sex toys. I do like a nice butt plug, and I have a standard Colt 1 1/2 inches plug (silicone), and several Aneros prostate massagers. The Progasm would be lovely except that I don't like those external massaging ball thingies. For material I almost prefer ABS plastic to silicone: it's easier to clean, and its smoothness means for easier insertion. The Progasm slips in beautifully, and were it not for those external arms it would be perfect. The next best thing I have is from the SportFucker line; similar shape and size, without the arms, but in silicone.

Here's where it gets tricky (for me). Most anal toys are silicone. And for butt use, silicone lube is preferred to water-based lube, as it lasts longer. But silicone lube is not recommended for use with silicone toys!

My ideal would be a decent ABS plastic or possibly glass toy - but there simply aren't many, at least that I've been able to find. So I'm hoping for advice...? Does anybody, for example, make glass prostate massagers?

Thanks, all!

The arms on most of the Prostate massagers are designed primarily to prevent the device from completely slipping inside and being difficult to retrieve, but also to facilitate movement of the device by acting as a lever and fulcrum through muscle contractions: the balls on the ends of the arms are designed to stimulate specific parts of the anatomy and assist in the creation of a prostate triggered orgasm.

I agree with you about the arms being uncomfortable and so I cut off the rear arm on my ABS Progasm, Helix and other massager and ground it down smooth leaving just the front arm touching the perineum. As such it still pivots with muscle contractions and prevents the device disappearing up my arse, but is no longer uncomfortable against my tailbone.

As for the issue of using silicone devices with silicone lube, I started using synthetic condoms over the devices which means I can use either silicone or oil based lube on the outside without affecting the device inside (unless it breaks).

Unfortunately after trying many different prostate massagers and modifications I have not been able to achieve pleasurable sensations, let alone prostate triggered orgasms, so have ceased trying. I still find the idea exciting, but it doesn't lead to anything except frustration in my case. This may be because of the chronic pain of CFS or the fact that I have Anhedonia and don't experience orgasms in particular or pleasure in general (but was hoping the alternate avenue of prostate stimulation might work).

Hopefully you are having a much better pleasurable experience than me with your devices, despite your issues.

Unless you specifically want a prostate massager, Lovehoney sell a range of glass dildos https://www.lovehoney.com.au/sex-toys/dildos/glass-dildos/

There are also metal butt plugs available and Njoy make a few different metal anal toys https://njoytoys.com.au/ albeit a bit pricey. The Njoy pure wand is interesting, although it doesn't do anything for me.

My suggestion would be to initially try the condom approach with the devices you like best and see if that helps: you can also put some water based lube inside the condom so the device can slide as well as the condom.

Good luck with obtaining the pleasure we all need in our lives, despite external circumstances.
