It's a several years old tribute to a friend who committed suicide. I know that being gay leads many boys to make this sad decision and hopefully things are improving (at least in some parts of the world), but there is a long way to go.

I have to admit though, that I'm far from shedding any tears. It's one sad event among many.

That is sad to hear, I just spent a stressful few days trying to convince a friend of mine not to go to one of those Christian degaying camps, he felt so tired of being mocked and felt he was disappointing his parents because he was Gay.

Spent nearly two hours convincing him not to do it because I know it wouldn't work. I'm keeping an eye on him because I know that these kind of feelings can lead to suicidal thoughts.

While this event may be "several years old" and "one sad event among many" - I strive to remind you that it only takes one single event to make history. Maybe I empathize to much, to the point that I feel and felt the web page's owner agony and pain over this "one sad event" IF only ONE person sees that page and sees that even if they don't see where the world would be at a loss without them, that it would be and that there are always people left behind, Then I am sure it will do the boy's, no strike that, that it will do Joshua G.'s (he did have a name so I will not ignore that and generalize him) memory justice, to save another from his sad fate.

Sorry for being so emotional over this, it just struck really close to home when I saw / read it, so I for one will say, "It Made A Difference", will you?

There is no need to apologize for how you react to this sad story and I certainly wasn't criticizing you...

But you asked for my reaction to the story and that's what I gave you. There is no need to criticize me for not feeling the same way you do.

Wasn't trying to criticize you on this, but it did seem to sound that way, sorry. Just saying that by minimizing any one single event, it easier to minimize others and eventually have a generalized outlook on a particular matter all together. The world does that all to often anyways because once we minimize something, it makes it easier not to look at because it's now insignificant compared to other issues we choose to deem important.
And as everyone in the gay lifestyle knows, there is nothing easy about it, but we have to strive a s a whole, one day at a time to make it better for everyone.
