ABC Cancels Ugly Betty

SO disappointing. This show has brought me a lotta pleasure. Too bad.
 
^^They will. They have 8 or 9 episodes yet to write.

I've watched every episode and really enjoy the show, but things move too slowly, and many of the subplots lately haven't been all that interesting.

And the ratings have been tanking for a few years.

It's always been the witty dialogue, particularly from Vanessa Williams, that has carried the show.
 
The important thing is, they're given a chance to wrap up... unlike a lot of other cancelled shows... Deadwood, Carnivale, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, The Middleman, Grosse Point...

Need I go on?
 
This does not surprise me at all.
As a matter of fact after last weeks show, which was sooo goofy, I thought this show ain't going be on much longer. The writers seem to have lost it, the story lines became so unbelievably stupid. Really a shame cause for a long time it was such a great show. Let's hop the writers come up with a teriffic finish and wrap things up in a way that will allow us to say goodbye to betty and the gang with a good feeling.

Ugly Betty has been so inspirational to my take of the world... Too bad comedy has to go back to reality...

I am gonna miss the show.
 
it getting bored in the last few episodes and getting cliche...

I watched the first episode of the first series and turned it off half way through. Never bothered with it again. Did absolutely nothing for me.
 
I certainly will miss it but atleast they are allowing the writers to wrap things up.

Moving the show to Friday nights(death night) and then moving it again to Wednesday night was the nail in the coffin. :cry:
 
Never watched it and the show never had any buzz from tv-viewers...Early on "Ugly Betty" was a winner with the Media-Critics..

There is a possibility that it could be picked up by another Network...ABC did pick up NBC's show "Scrubs"...But I think ABC is regretting taking on "Scrubs" in 2009 and will not bring it back this year...
 
I was a huge fan of the Colombian version (Betty La Fea) and was intrigued when ABC did their version. The 1st year was quite good, but midway through the 2nd season it went down the crapper. I'm surprised it's been on this long.

I always found "Ugly Betty" much the same as I did "Will & Grace" - a terrific idea with great potential but uneven and pooly executed. Try as I might with both shows they just couldn't hold my interest.
 
I've been a fan since the beginning. I think its a great show. That makes another of my fav shows gone.

Good shows are gone too fast anymore, and they keep bringing more and more of those crappy reality shows. No wonder I don't turn on the tv much anymore.
