I hope everyone especially dumbass Perez Hilton is happy now. I'm glad he did it with Rolling Stone and not a degrading People article like Lance Bass and Clay.

This part of the article:

Adam Lambert is gay.

The American Idol Season 8 runner-up ends any speculation in the next issue of Rolling Stone, out Friday. "I don't think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear I'm gay." He explains: "I've been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man. I've been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner."

The Idol favorite, who finished in second place after Kris Allen, says, "Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, 'I'm going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler.' " He adds, " I'm proud of my sexuality."

Still, Lambert, 27, says he doesn't mind attention from the opposite sex. "I loved it this season when the girls went crazy for me," he says. "As far as I'm concerned, it's all hot."

But exactly what is his type? When Idol producers put him in a room to share with Allen, Lambert says his first thought was, "They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He's the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type — except that he has a wife. I mean he's open-minded and liberal, but he's definitely 100% straight."

As for the scandal over photos of Lambert in drag that surfaced on the Internet in March, he says, he forgot to remove photos from his profile on a social network for the Burning Man festival in Nevada. "Wasn't ready for that," he tells RS of the photos of him in costume making out with his ex. He was worried that people would think the drag ensemble was typical of him. "I've only dressed in drag three or four times. ... I don't tuck and wear breasts, that's not me."

Though Lambert supports the gay-rights movement, he doesn't want to be its poster boy. "I'm trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."

Stereotypes about gays do annoy Lambert. "Clay Aiken's gay, and I'm gay, and we couldn't be more different. The only thing that is the same about everyone in the gay community is that we're gay. ... Why can't we talk about a human community?"

In addition to his homosexuality, Lambert shares other personal details with RS.

At 21, he was in a European tour of Hair for six months. That was when he dyed his hair black. In Germany, he started smoking pot and tried Ecstasy. But he does have limits. Among his dislikes: cocaine.

"That drug is such a reflection of the lack of self-esteem and control people have over themselves and their lives," he says.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

Shocking news. Who would have ever guessed?

What an incredibly talented guy and gay, too (I always knew and so did you).

I love great drama and great mag covers. I just may frame this one.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

Nice trouser snake.

Now we can start ignoring him and focus on the next "is he or isn't he" celebrity...

What, gays can sing now? :O

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

as if rolling stone was any different than people.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

Ummm, I do not see the big deal about this guy? I listened to his performances and Chris Allen's and Chris' were waaaaayyyy better. I guess I just don't get it...

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

He looks like a new version of Boy George. I heard he couldn't sing that well. That look sets gay men back about 20 yrs. :)
Well that statement makes no sense at all. Adam made it to the final, so how can you state that he couldn't sing well. Making it as far as he did just shows what a star he really is and how far he can go in the future despite his sexuality. And what makes you think he is a new version of Boy George  TONS of artists who are NOT gay wear makeup and I don't see straight people calling them Boy George. Adam is nothing like the limp-wristed, effeminate and shallow stereotype that is so quickly shunned by "correct" gays

The implications of this statement, to me, say he still likes pot and ecstasy? Thank god he found his "limits."

What a stupid comment to make.

I am already over him.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

Look I dont need the snarkiness and sarcasm. I was just sharing the information because he never officially came out and tons of people were complaining about that. Of course I knew he was gay so I know it isnt a surprise. I personally dont like Adam's style of music but anyone with an open mind about music can see the kid has some talent. Plus I dont think Kris, the actualy winner, got the cover of Rolling Stone. Leave it to gays to be so critical of probably the ONLY YOUNG gay to be open about their sexuality at the beginning of their career. most other celebrities waited until they had already achieved success to come out. All of them should lend their support of him as we should too.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

Not a fan...but the cover shot is pretty good pic of him...considering. The snake and butterfly though are odd...not sure I get the symbolism.

I'm just glad that he's finally "out" (again)...now we can move on to way more interesting topics. The incessant discussions and media speculations on his sexuality have been quite boring and ridiculous.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

This is so anti-climatic people have been talking about htis article for about a month

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

I do need to remind you that Taylor Hicks WON American Idol, and boy, what a boost his career got!

Lets not pretend Adam; you waited for Rolling Stone because it would get you some cash, not because it'd be "cooler".

I still promise to burn the issue if i get it.
Adam got the cover not because he’s gay  Rolling Stone was praising him throughout the season.

Simon Cowell hated Taylor Hicks and said that he wll never be a star. Simon said Adam had been one of the best and most original contestants that had ever had on the Idol stage. He also said they had found a star when they found Adam. Like it or not - Simon is right more often than not.

And that's bad because...? If somebody gave me money to keep my mouth shut for a few months and not saying something that everyone already knows, I would happily agree.

I love your mind.

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

This if one of the first pix of Adam where I think he looks sexy. ..|
the massive amount of air brushing they did on his face helps...;) kudos to the photo editors...quite a challenge I'm sure.

I still think a 27 yr old shouldn't be running around with a 16 yr old's emo hair style...but whatever...to each their own...the tweenie girls and house fraus love it/him...they can have him.
It's kinda bad because it makes him look like a big opportunist.
He said he lived his life openly, so why didn't he just continue doing that on Idol? Why keep up the guessing game if it's an easy game to win? Had he simply waived the notion with a yes, i'd get behind him alot more... instead, he played coy. Which is simply annoying.

I agree....especially since he was basically "out" prior to his Idol appearance. He did get a lot of media attention by not answering the question though...what a new media whore is after I guess. Little respect for him here...

Re: Adam Lambert officially comes out in Rolling Stone

The gays are still nitpicking I see. Cant anyone read? He was never in the closet. So why is everyone giving him grief. He never pretended to be straight and even changed female pronoun lyrics in his performances. He never denied being gay but if you use your brain, if he stirred up all this controversy during idol all everyone would be talking about is his sexuality. No one would focus on his performance at all. He would just be Gay Adam or the Gay Idol and nothing more. I'd like to know what all you critics would have done if you were in the same position as him.
