I don't own one - but the people I know who have Kindle LOVE them - say they are very easy to read on.

If it was me... I would wait 6 months or so and see if they come out with a Kindle Fire with a bigger screen. That way you get color and can watch movies, etc - but a lot cheaper than iPad...

Butt, I need a locator switch for it. Dr's offices, Airplanes , Dentist,

Barber shop, Lucky I know these people and they watch out...

now the kid wants to upgrade me to fire and I keep saying

I need to finish leash training on this one.

BTW, Kindles do not like the hottub/spa. Paperbacks do better.

Get an iPad, they do more. Kindle looks like a large calculator, its like a unwanted child in technology. Even satin himself doensn't want it in hell with him...

ok i might be overacting a tad but I sill think ur better of with a ipad.

^I met a lady during jury duty who has BOTH!!!

She said that the iPad GLARES really bad in sunlight -- so she switches back and forth...

OBVIOUSLY -- the iPad has more functionality -- but it also COSTS quite a bit more...

I've had the kindle since the "early" days -- and I LOVE IT!!!

HOWEVER, I'm a little PISSED with Amazon for RENEGING on their PROMISE to offer the NY Times bestseller list for $9.99...

ALSO -- they use a format that doesn't allow the FREE formats on SOME books to be used on the Kindle device -- therefore, making you spend money with THEM...

Oh well -- just my thoughts and observations...

I thought about getting one, but, I'm a bibliophile and the price for the thing outweighed it's use capabilities that others have commented on. The iPad would be more my choice too, but I'm not in any need of new tech at this point in time.
