Breaking News Alan Thicke Dead at 69

Never heard of him except through his son.

RIP

I was never an Alan Thicke fan, but he had many. I'm sure he will be missed by all of them. Still, I know how much he loved hockey, both watching and playing. For his life to end doing what he loved so much is something we can only hope for.

He looked really good for his age---wonder if he knew he had heart disease. RIP.

He died in the most Canadian way possible.

Few know that Alan was also a composer who created the theme songs for a number of TV programmes and game shows, including 'Different Strokes', 'The Facts of Life', and the original 'Wheel of Fortune' theme.

This is a nice, kind of acapella version of the Growing Pains theme song.

As long as we got each other

We got the world spinnin right in our hands.

Baby you and me, we gotta be

The luckiest dreamers who never quit dreamin... :(

Was he the one responsible for making Kirk Cameron a weirdo?

He appeared with today's Kirk Cameron the holy roller on GROIN PAINS.

Was he the one responsible for making Kirk Cameron a weirdo?

I don't think so. Kirk became a born-again Christian a few seasons into the show and began making demands on the cast, the writers, and the producers. He refused to do anything in the show if he considered something too adult. (Interesting that he was a teen idol in all the teen magazines of the day.) He even got one of the cast members fired from the show because she had once posed for Playboy.

When he became religious, he went religious all the way and caused all sorts of problems for the show and cast.
