Aliens vs. Predator Requiem

Just got in from seeing this movie, and I personally enjoyed it despite the reviews some people are throwing up for it. From what I've read, a LOT of people appear to have gone in expecting the wrong kind of movie.

I did make a post a while back to discuss the whole Alien franchise, but here I just want to talk about this specific movie and perhaps the first AVP. I glanced through and didn't see any other post about it, so sorry if there is one.

I want to know what everyone thinks when they see it. What did you think? What did you expect? Did you enjoy it? Why/why not?

I'm looking forward to an open discussion about AVPR and, to a lesser extent, AVP.

i just got back from seeing it and loved it. I didnt see any previews and didnt know what to expect but i loved the first one. i think it was a kickass movie, the ending was a lil abrupt but left a lot of good speculation of what to expect.

awesome special effects, acting was okay and both the aliens and predator were kickass

Better than AVP1. But this movie made the Predator the better outsider, as it is trying to kill the Aliens, that are killing people mercilessly.

That swimming pool scene - where she has to strip down, but he does not have to? Gender discrimination.

Haha, I hadn't even thought about gender discrimination at that point.

I personally love how, in this movie, the predator was a complete badass. He was there to clean up the Aliens, and he didn't care who he took down along the way.

I just saw it and it was ok. I'm not a fan of movies like this but it was ok. I hated the ending. It was a total 'what the fuck was that?' moment but it had really good effects.

You mean the part with that woman? I kind of saw it coming with some of the other events that happened, especially when you consider her name.

I liked that this one was not afraid to push any limits. When they put the nest where they did, they went the whole way.

The "Are the monsters gone now, mommy?" part was too closely linked to Newt in Aliens.

The script...the film is made for Alien and Predator battling, the script and humans are there simply to give it some sense of movement and direction. That is why I find it hilarious that people are angry because there wasn't a good enough script and they weren't big celebrities.

I like that they were mostly, if not entirely, people I'd never heard of before. It kept the focus on the Aliens, Predator, and Predalien.
