Am I the only one who didn't like Latter Days?

I hated it.
I would much rather sit through two hours of the beautifully done Brokeback Mountain than watch 15 minutes of Latter Days.

I don't know why so many guys are hating on queer cinema. There is some well-done, respectable stuff out there: Edge of Seventeen, Mysterious Skin, Bear Cub, Bent, Summer Storm, Yossi & Jagger... just a few.

I'll take note of the films you have mentioned Hella, and give them a try.

i certainly would not say i am hating on "queer cinema", i am always on the look out for a good film gay or straight it just so happens that i am often disappointed after viewing a gay themed film. Some of the reasons are that they are low budget with numerous gay stereotypes, other times it is simply dreadful acting and a thin script. In the case of latter days i though the story was a little bit stronger than others.

PS i enjoyed Brokeback also!

It's one of the better "B" gay-themed movies. If you want a good gay themed movie see "A Beautiful Thing" or "Summerstrum."
