Amazing Race 10

<puts on flame retardent suit>

I dunno, 'The Amazing Race' has always been my very fav of all the
'reality shows', but this year got off to rather an offensive start, IMO.

First off, this being JUB I'll rage on the 'the gay thing'. Right off the bat
we are treated to a Father that looks at his daughter lovingly, but can't help
but 'be a little disappointed' with her because she is, horror of horrors...a lesbian.

Sure, she's beautiful and obviously sucessful and in a stable relationship, but
all of that matters not to her Dad, who breaks down in tears right there in front of the camera. Give me a break.

Then, our gay couple d'jour, (I've yet to learn their names) turn out to be two raging queens that manage to live up to every gay stereotype the 'red state Str8 community' have of us.

I mean, God forbid they should just be two regular guys in the race like everyone else, perhaps we'll see them learning dance routines with cheerleaders in the next episode... Oh, wait, we already have.

And darn it if they didnt beat the cheerleaders little asses in learning and completing it! ..| Guess they already did "Chip and Reichen" and the "guys" from last year didnt make it past the first leg, so I guess they needed another chance. Hey, at least they HAD a gay couple on this year so that would be a positive.

Agree on the eye candy as well.

We took a bet on who would be the first ones booted off. My partner said Kentucky and I did as well, then he changed it to Bilal and Saaed and he won.
(Although they were booted off before the first pit stop so does it really count?) :D

I usually hate reality TV, because very rarely does it have anything to do with reality. People performing for a camera, doing second and third takes to get the best show for the camera, putting on a different face then they usually wear, trying to manipulate the situation, and all that puts me off, but this show is a little different for me.

At least it seems to me, there isn't time to pretend to be someone else when you are running a race.

In fact we have seen couples discover who their partner really is, because their true self comes out that has usually been kept in check.

Then again, what the hell do I know? I watch it for the hotties! Whom I kidding here? LOL

Tyler and James should have all their clothes taken away as a prize for the audience! (!) *|* :sex:

I completely agree with you about the gay couple but the father daughter team... I couldn't be happier they're their. That's not anti-gay that's real. There's quite a difference. That's a real situation which real people need to deal with.

Is anyone else's gaydar going off when you see Tyler and James together? They just seem to be real touchy-feely with each other...maybe it is just wishful thinking.

This is my first year watching the Amazing Race and I love it. (!)

After watching Big Brother 7 shitty finalle, I told myself I would no longer watch reality shows. Well Lo and behold! I'm hooked, (again). The Amazing Race is more exciting then watching people sitting around in a house with their fingers up their arse, Thats for sure. ;)

I'm rooting for the boy models.

When I watched Tyler and James' video on the CBS website before the show premiered, I thought Tyler was gay. And then he started talking about hooking up on the race with girls and I thought, "Oh no, not another Jeremy/Eric team." Now, after watching the show, it seems to me that Tyler is in lovee with James or something.

 I totally forgot the Amazing Race was on yesterday. I'll have to play catch up.

I'm watching it now! Tyler and James are so hot. And those two other guys are too stereotypically gay.

Fuck, you spoiled it for me lol. But it's okay, I was thinking to myself 10 minutes ago that I was hoping they would be gone (and I come from a muslim background).

EDIT: Looks like you didn't really spoil it. I didn't expect that 35 minutes into the episode.

God you could see that a mile away. The thing I didn't see coming was the midstream eviction. That was some twist.

I have to agree with Joshua_me, I wish they did not show a stereotypical gay. Why couldn't there be some gays like Jeremy/Eric (not that they are gay, although I think one is).

Well there was Chip and Reichen on Season 4. They won too. All the gay teams from Season 1-4 have been AWESOME. The Guidos, Cha Cha Chas, Kenny of Oh, Brother from season 3. After Chip and Reichen won, the gay teams have all been annoying and stereotypical.

Anyway, I don't like the girl with the prosthetic leg either. Well it's not just her, I don't like her partner as well. I also don't like the gay team, Miss America, Alabama, and the father of the father/lesbian daughter team.

I only like the Models because they're nice eye candy. I have a feeling they're going to be another Eric/Jeremy. Their shots on the opening credits are exactly the same as Eric and Jeremy. I think they're gonna be hooking up with Miss America, which was kind of foreshadowed in the premier episode.

I also like the cheerleader.

It's actually James who I thought was gay when I watched their CBS video, until he started talking about hooking up with girls.

I am totally glued to the tv screen when JT come on. I have all those uncensored and 'wihtout boudary' imagination of they 2, when they are off screen. I mean, which two hunkies would pair off with one another since the drug days, and come all this way.

Let just allow our imagination to entertain us.. ahhhhh... Men! Can't live without them - Can't live without them! Period.

Fuck, you spoiled it for me lol.

Oh! Ha ha ha....I hate spoilers. I assume everyone knows there are spoilers in these sort of topics. If I haven't viewed the mosed recent episode on TiVo, I won't open the thread.

Glad I didn't *completely* spoil it for you!

Also, I am not an expert on the muslim faith...I was curious that the muslim guys said that they couldn't shake the hands of the cheerleaders. Never heard of that before.
