while physics, more specifically general relativity, does not SPECIFICALLY say time travel is IMPOSSIBLE, it does state that the amount of energy required to "travel" in time would be absolutely outrageous. there is no power source in the world that would come close to supplying enough power to "travel" in time.

Now, will it be possible in the future? who knows.

omg... i had totally forgotten about this guy.

he may not be telling the truth, but harm does do to try to keep an open mind?

i remember kicking myself for not taking him on his offer to e-mail a younger version of myself. of course, i wouldn't benefit from it, but another david in a very similar universe would.

i wish him luck... whether it's on his mission to find that old computer or on his way to the mental hospital.

Sure ... we all travel through time ... but all simultaneously at the same forward speed.

Why not?

If time travel is technically possible then it is irrelevant whether we have an adequate power source at this moment in time, what matters is if we ever have a relevant power source at ANY point in time, and if we do, you're pretty much guaranteed that some numbskull somewhere will get time travel to work, with no thought of the consequences - so if that does happen, then you could say a time machine could pop up at ANY moment in time, regardless of whether it was technologically possible at that time or not.

The worrying/exciting thing is - if it IS real, and if he HAS come back to THIS specific time - then why now? what happens now, or soon, that has drawn his attention to this point in time?

If it were true, then I'd say either something massive is about to happen OR he just randomly went libuhaetbiuhaeligushmotgwhmocbiwurhblr on the time-machine-keyboard and ended up here. Although that'd be dumb, 'cos he could have time-travelled accidentally to the exact point in time when the earth is eaten by a supernova of the sun.

My imagination is on overdrive. I've had too much sugar today.

if in 2031 they still write manuals on typewriters, i'd laugh ;)

Hoax.

The Vulcan Science Directorate has concluded that time travel is impossible.

The link won't work for me.

From what I understand, while time travel is not impossible as a whole, it is forward time travel that is not impossible. Backward time however is impossible. Again, this is just from what I have been told over the years.

I do believe in time travel, but no physically, but mentally.
I had so many dreams that came true, so, I think we can go to the future for sure.

Did anyone see the seats in the car? It looks like a 1980's Buick. I know they won't last that long.

If there was time travel, we'd hear about someone winning every lottery and sporting events.
