Apology not necessary man.
I love to see a success story and Rupert Murdoch is certainly that. He created a new television network in the USA..... quite an amazing thing in itself. Many years ago, when Fox began I tought that this will never work. I figured the three USA networks have been and always will be the only ones capable of creating programs that people would want to watch. The cost of starting a new network alone must have been enormous.
Yet Murdoch did it. It took a few years of course... he had to find programs that would catch the public attention. Some of the first programs were atrocious. Then, a few years later he began the Fox News Network. This was something that was needed in the USA, a different perspective on news commentary. The three networks had always had the field to themselves... Now we have Fox, CNN and many others.
Australia should be proud that a citizen of hers has become wealthy while providing a much needed service to the rest of the world.
Don't begrudge your fellow countrymen when they become succesful man, be thankful for that and hope for more of them to do so.

We begrudge his questionable business practices, his abandoment of citizenship to be able to purchase media in the U.S. and the manipulation of our media here. He is a wretched excuse for a human being. Monetary sucess will never make up for that!:mad:He was one of Australia's richest men before he started Fox- he merely became richer using the money he inherited from his father. If he was actually a "self-made man" people here may have more empathy for him!

Please can you say sorry to us Brits as well for what we have had to put up with from him](*,)

Although when we retain the Ashes, we will consider the debt paid..|

Saying he became richer because of the money he inherited is a little silly. His father, Sir Keith Murdoch died in 1952. His mother, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch is still alive. Funds that he obtained from his father's estate (if any) in 1952 would have been a drop in the bucket. The fortune he has amassed is all his own work - not that of his father.

he doesnt need to apolgise, if hes the owner of Fox then think how many excellent programs like Family Guy, American Dad, The Simpsons the list could go on hes made possible. And as for Fox News news is news all the same.

sebbles has obviosuly never SEEN Fox News.

He lives in England.

Fox News isn't really a "NEWS" station, it's a 24 hour station where they have Arch Conservative commentators doing talk shows where they warp the truth and misrepresent the opinions that Rupert Murdoch disagrees with.

They lie... like... come right out and lie.

There's very little "News" on the station.

I'll put it in terms you can understand, Seb.

If the Sun says one thing, and a decent paper like the Independant says another, which do you believe?

(hint. one of these papers is owned by Murdoch. The other isn't.)

The Sun is owned by Rupert Murdoch, i do know that. And like i said news is news. The only paper i read is The Express and its very anti labour, but despite the fact i support Labour im smart enough to realise whats actaul facts and what the express decide to put in to try and make labour look bad.

The Sun is more for a light read and isnt on the politcal side really so i wouldnt be able to compare it with one which is more political.

Alot of people like Fox News (which i have seen as its not only in America soilwork) Just because it doesnt hold your views and side with everything you like does not make it unreliable and bad.

well, actaully, it IS unreliable.

Let's not forget that just last month, they were reporting that Mark Foley was a Democrat after he got caught trying to have sex with underage guys.

well whatever i dont mind it, and i like Fox because it has my favourate programs, and its all thanks to RM. So doesnt really matter as im not going to start disliking him.
