Am I the only one a little disturbed by the fact that your boyfriend decided (without your input?) that you both are going to have anal sex? Anyhow...

There are different thoughts on the best position for the first time. Some will say you should 'sit on it' so that you can control insertion. In this position it's harder for most guys to relax the necessary muscles which may in fact make it more difficult. Some say you should both lay on your side or that you should lay on your stomach.

The first time I bottomed, we started in missionary and it worked fine. Doggy style tends to allow the guy to go deeper. I'm not sure it makes insertion any easier.

I'd recommend to just find a comfortable position (as in how you're both positioned before insertion), use lots of lube and take things slow. You can then experiment around with other positions once he's inside.
 
'Sitting on it' or squatting is the position that makes penetration the easiest, since the action of squating aligns your bowels.

Another one that's good for controlling penetration by the bottom is doing it sideways/side-by-side.

I personalyl love missionary because I think it's romantic and doggie style just isn't much fun, since it's very impersonal.
 
definitely sit on top for the first few occaisions, you'll be in near total control, and this will prevent any painful "slips".

Try sitting on his bone, that way you can control it. Some tops, especially first timers, are so turned on by the sensations they have the urge to just stuff it in all in one motion. Some positions are more comfortable than others, and having read comments from other guys in the past I can only conclude that we're all different. You'll just have to experiment to find what works best for you, though I will echo what others have said that you sitting on him will be easiest for initial penetration.

I love bottom'ing, but not doggy style or when I'm standing with my torso bent over the bed. It's just extremely uncomfortable for me. Lay me on my belly though, or have me on my back with legs over your shoulders and I'm in heaven.
 
Though we do try some positions, the missionary is definitely our favorite no matter who is top and bottom as it allows more intimacy between us.
