Yep. 30 years ago the same crowd was predicting a global ice age and for much the same reason.

Henry, the global phenomena which lead to ice ages are markedly different from those which lead to warming. They definitely don't include methane and CO2 being released from permafrost and lake and sea bottoms.
And twenty years ago, those same scientists realized they'd been missing some things, and because of the data concluded that they'd been wrong -- that thanks to the steady increase of CO2 in the atmosphere, we were going to miss an ice age.... and then realized that the observed global warming paralleled the increase in CO2, and started asking questions.
Since then, the data have just gotten more conclusive. Of course it doesn't help the situation that we've been getting increased solar flux -- talk about bad timing.
