So this band has been around for a while. Not too long but enough to have two albums out. It formed after blink-182 broke up and Tom DeLonge does the vocals. I recall him doing most of the vocals for blink-182 as well. At least for most of the songs I like :D

Anyways this band is just incredible. My friend listened to them alot and I thought they sounded wierd. But first I heard the single "Everything's Magic" from their latest album I-Empire and loved that song and checked out the album. And I basically loved every track on the album. I think my favorite tracks on it are "Sirens","Rite Of Spring", "Call To Arms", and "Secret Crowds." But my dad actually likes the CD. I left it in the car and when I got back from work it was on track 7 or somethign and we only listened to the first 2 tracks in the car. I put it on his iPod touch too and he was grateful for that.

But I got their first album "We Don't Need a Whisper" a few months ago. AND I LISTEN TO ALMOST EVERY TRACK EVERYDAY. I love it. I love "Valkyrie Missile", "Do It For Me Now", "The Adventure", "A Little's Enough", "The War" and "It Hurts"

It Hurts is also in Rock Band. I downloaded it and LOVE TO PLAY THAT SONG IN ROCK BAND. The vocals are fun and playing that song with the guitar is fun. It's also fun to do both as my solo artist "The Wanderer" :D

I hope sometime in the future Rock Band gets one of the albums as DLC.

They also plan to feature a documentry in theaters. I hope they do.

But even better they are playing at this years Warped Tour for the whole Summer. As well as Madina Lake and soem other good bands. Most of the bands for the warped tour I don't care for. But I think I will go just to see AvA play.

What I really love about AvA is it's very different from blink-182. They were mostly punk and this isn't. But they still keep the great sound that they had. And the music is sort of romantic which I don't think works that well today but it works for them. I also find some of the lyrics very philosophical. So romantic and philosopher. Very great mix. They don't really use that much profanity either. I know for Rock Band they censcored "Was just a little [STRIKE]bullshit[/STRIKE] I saw through" and "It's now a [STRIKE]fucking[/STRIKE] fire out of control"

But yeah anyways this band just completly kicks ass. It's not really heavy and I am normally into Heavy music. That's what really suprised me when I grew to like this band. I have checked out +44 formed by Mark Hoppus and they aren't bad but IMO AvA is much better. Although some will say that +44 is better.

Anyways does anyone know who the hell I am talking about and like this band?

Yeah I really like them too.

I went to their concert last year. it was good

You went to their concert?
REALLY?

Was it worth it?

Did they do any covers from blink-182

I hear a new cover they have been doing is "Not Now" which kicks ass.

But Tom absolutely sucks at doing "I Miss You"

Mark is definately needed for that.

My friend gave me their two albums last year and for the life of me I knew I heard that voice somewhere. He informed me that it was the lead singer from Blink 182. God, I did not like him then and think this band's music is better but still sub par for my music tastes.

I did give it to 2 younger guys at work and both of them really loved the new band.

Yup. Most people realize that even if they don't know he was the lead singer for blink-182 at first. They just go "Damn this sounds familar."

I wouldn't say AvA is better but it is different and it's very good.

That's cool that the younger guys liked it. I think mostly younger guys like it. But my dad likes the album "I-Empire"

Donno if he'd like "We Don't Need to Whisper"

I know that I-Empire is cleaner. Even though WDNW doesn't have that much profanity to my dad profanity is the worst thing ever :D

I really loved the first album "We Don't Need to Whisper" ... the summer I got it, I remember listening to it a lot. It's a great album to listen to straight through.

I think Tom DeLonge definitely grew up from his Blink 182 years and I can really appreciate his mature sound and songwriting in Angels & Airwaves.

Haven't really given I-Empire a good listen to yet, but if the first album was any indication, it should be pretty decent.

I started from the second album and liked the first one better :P

Yes it is.

If you admire how Tom has progressed definately check out the track "Rite of Spring" on I-Empire. He tells of his life and mentions blink-182 when he says, "And formed a punk rock band."

It's interesting hearing of what he has been through as well.

But yeah that song is kinda personal to him but I'm sure anyone can relate to it.

Anyways I-Empire is a pretty good album. You should get it and you'll probably like the songs. I have just listened to most of them too much but now I've listened to WDNW too much so I am gonna go back to I-Empire :D

oh yeah it was totally worth it. They did "Down" and one other song from blink I don't remember which.

At one point Tom disappeared from the stage and everyone was like wtf, then he appears at the very top of the stairs (this was at gwinnett arena) and sings the next song as he slowly makes his way through the crowd and back to the stage. It was really cool.

I'll definitely see them again when they come back here.

I think they're OK, not really my cup of tea for music though. I prefer mostly music that is energizing, and I honestly almost fell asleep the first time I heard 'The Adventure'.
