Anonymous, the well-known hacker group, says it plans to take down the Fox News web site on November 5. The group is objecting to the network's biased coverage of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Anonymous "intends on destroying the Fox News Web site because their continued right-wing conservative propaganda can no longer be tolerated... ...Since they will not stop belittling the occupiers, we will simply shut them down."

Anonymous made the threats in a video posted to YouTube on October 22. The video features a synthesized female voice.

November 5 is Guy Fawkes Day in Britain.

Citizens of the world and the Internet:

We are Anonymous.

Fox News is now the target of Anonymous because of their continued propaganda against the occupations. Those such as Sean Hannity are attacking the credentials as well as the character of the occupiers at Wall St. and this can no longer be allowed.

Anonymous introduces Operation Fox Hunt. Anonymous intends on destroying the Fox News web site because their continued right-wing conservative propaganda can no longer be tolerated. They use words such as "filthy," "disgusting," and "dirty" to describe the protesters. Since they will not stop belittling the occupiers, we will simply shut them down. On Novemeber fifth, we ask those who are able to commence attacks on Fox News. Anonymous will not only shut down Fox News, we will also engage in a propaganda campaign of our own to show them how it feels to be chastized.

Fox News, your time has come. Operation Fox Hunt - Novemer 5th. May the hunt begin.

We are Anonymous. We are legion.

We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.

If you really want to attack someone, you probably shouldn't announce it ahead of time.

This hacking group also said that they would take down Facebook on this day too. If they succeed, I wonder to what degree our internet will be censored by our government who likes to use occurrences like this to push threw their political agenda?

Anonymous either needs to carry threw with their plans and prove themselves to be serious OR they need to stop making threats and vanish away. I'm not exactly sure where I stand with this hacking group because they are shrouded in secrecy so much it's hard to tell if they are really for free humanity or if they are secretly working for the government.

 Why?

Depends on how strong you think your are -- overwhelming them even when they've been warned is a very thorough stomp.

*Checks Fox news*

Yep, still up.

Anonymous is a weak-kneed bunch of losers at this point. They also threatened to out all of the members of a drug cartel, including their police and government moles, but couldn't do it. They're nothing to be afraid of anymore. My dog is about as useful as they are.

I wouldn't mind if Fox News got attacked.

Go Guy Fawkes day! Though that poor man back was horribly killed. >.>

Anybody who considers anonymous to be "a" hacking group is very uninformed. And so are most people that write articles about them.

Anybody can call himself anonymous. I could hack a website and claim it was Anonymous. Anonymous is everybody and nobody. Anonymous is not a real person, not a real group, nobody with a certain agenda. Yet the media act like they were.

They were, at a point over the past year. Then they started getting arrested.

At this point, they couldn't execute an 'attack' on a 90 year old's personal computer, let alone Fox News or Facebook.

No. People who operate under the "cover" of anonymous have been arrested. Mainly some copycats without a clue of what they were actually doing.

For whom? That just might have been an announcement from a 13 y-o boy who thought he wants to punish them. There is no "official" anonymous spokesperson or anybody making "official" announcements. ANYBODY can make an announcement and claim to be "anonymous". Anonymous is a cover, not a group.
