Another Demonoid Thread...but about something different: Ratio

Ok, so I just really started using Demonoid although I signed up to it about a week and a half ago. Yesterday I downloaded 3 files, not very big ones, all together about 40 megs. Then I seeded until I had a combined upload of about 2.3 gigs. When Demonoid updated my ratio it had said I had downloaded 5.22 megs and uploaded nothing.
I went through and read what they said about ratios; log in to the site for while so they can get your ip, disable dht and so forth and I had done all that. I went to check their clients to see if mine was on the "ok" list but the page wasn't found...but I'll assume utorrent was on the list since they give instructions on how to make a torrent with it.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I should try doing?

I think we joined at the same time. I haven't had problems, but it does get quirky. If I leave my machine on all night and seed, my ratio goes up, sometimes a lot. I use utorrent also. Still on the learning curve with torrents, so I can't add much except try seeding for a while. It can be a problem finding things to add to make your ratio go up since anything worth while is already there. Try off the wall music and such. (I have found a lot of old games I want to try!)

They are slow at updating the file information. They are really slow on that.

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies, and you were right Brandon. They are pretty damned slow. Here I thought it was me and that I was somehow going to get some kind of warning since my ratio wouldn't go up . Guess I just need to be more patient .

I just logged in to Demonoid and I got a little button on my Control Panel giving me permission to create an invite - how weird is that?

I haven't really done anything new - I uploaded about 4meg yesterday!!

Go figure!

I had a spare invite and was waiting for someone to get back to me if they wanted it and today I checked my Control Panel and it was gone - but the button to create a new one was there again. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to how their system works. I've been in upload mode for well over 24hrs and they still show me as having downloaded more than I've uploaded.

Be happy that you can spare 3 more invites. Their updating sucks, but if you upload more then you download that will be enough to get 3 more invites.

I was looking thru old threads to find out how to burn .vob files and ran across this post. I looked on my control panel and found a create new invite button. lo and behold I have what looks like an invite. who needs it? i'm new to torrents and demonoid so I guess this is an invite. its 4 letters 3 numbers and 1 letter. is that it?
