Another MTV VMAs: Another Letdown!!

Britney had a little cameo that was supposed to be funny but it just didn't work.

I actually enjoyed the show more than the past 2 years when they went to Miami. I liked the performances except for Panic at the Disco. I like them but their performance has to be the worst I've ever seen.

The winners were really bad though. Christina once again left empty handed and the nominees for Video of the Year barely came out with anything. That's what happens when you let the public vote for every single category. Which brings me to the "Viewer's Choice Award". Since they made the public vote for every single category, then doesn't that mean that they're all viewers choice?

I liked Justin's performance, however, the energy was lost in the middle when they started SexyBack. I liked Beyonce's performance too but Christina's was my favorite. It was just a different feel from everybody else performing and she outclassed everyone that went on that stage. I still wish she would've sung "Candyman" though.

There were a lot of funny moments too. Missy getting hit in the head with the umbrella and one of Ludacris' backup dancers falling off the stage. Pink thinking she's better than everyone and then making an ass out of herself on stage. One thing that wasn't funny: Jack Black. He was painful.

One thing that bugged me a lot was Paris Hilton waving to everybody when she came out.

Oh and another thing that I thought was very funny was when Christina was standing right beside the audience and someone was gonna touch her dress and immediately she pulled the dress and moved. I don't know if she actually saw the girl was trying to touch her or she just wanted to move but it looked really funny.

I couldn't have put it better myself, Miztab13. :=D: This year's VMAs was LAME AS HELL. I loved the initial part of Justin's performance "My Love" but when "Sexyback" started I was so gone. Sexyback is such a sucky song. The Ludacris background dancer falling and Missy and the umbrella was PRICELESS.

I know! I noticed that too. It made me laugh.

Thank you Tierra you say it quite nicely. Plus I enjoy your post!
I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching the VMA's.

Beyonce had a nice show going until she took an intermission and decided to steal Janet Jackson's 'Rhythym Nation' dance routine. Ick. [-X[/quote]

Thank god someone else saw that too. Her performance was hot though but it looked heavily influenced from other artists.

Only a dismal 5.77 million viewers tuned in for last Thursday's telecast. I guess having the show back in NYC didn't help much.

Even though Beyonce's performance was a complete knock-off of Janet's "Rhythm Nation" (as well Mr. and Mrs. Smith), I thought she gave a commanding performance. For me, she was definitely the showstopper of the night. With Christina being a very close second, she sounded great, she looked great, and her vulnerability was palpable. Shakira/Wyclef's performance was nice, even though she didn't sound all that good. Britney, she looked gorgeous, but that skit was hilariously lame and no where near funny. She really needs to stop promoting her leech, er, "husband" at any given opportunity.

I also noticed that too!! Very Xtina diva moment! "Don't touch my couture bitch!" LOL

When 2006 VMAs first started, it looked promising from all of the guest appearances, but then went stale pretty fast. I liked Christina's performance the best, followed by Timberlake's, but even his performance was off. I know, I'll probably get blasted for saying this, but when "Hips Don't Lie" receives the most nominations, then you know there was not a lot of competition that year. Not saying it's a bad video, but nothing ground-breaking, unique, or memorable about the video.

I think Jack Black is really funny, he's just crazy.

I didn't watch the show but saw Beyonce's performance on youtube and man she was hot, love it.

Yeah it was good but everyone is trashing it and saying how she copied Britney Spears and Janet Jackson.

Once again the show sucked ass and I don't think MTV can ever be good again!
Beyonce was a wannabe SO BAD!

I hated the show!
jack black is a big fat stupid ass who really needs to get lost! I do not find him funny at all! Jim Carey is way funnier then this loser! Please get a life already. He messed up on all his jokes and that made me think of how much he has NO talent what so ever!

The only person I liked was Christina Aguliera. She was the best dressed, did an AWESOME performance, and was VERY classy.
I am glad she gave up that dirty look cause it SO wasn't her lol. :)

That's all I have to say. :)

Actually, she didn't copy Britney. If you all paid any attention, you would know that Beyonce already came down the ceiling UPSIDE DOWN 3 years ago, so why would she need to copy Britney to have a hot performance?

Please

She was coming down like Angelina Jolie, and she had on the SAME trenchcoat that she wears IN the music video for the song.

And the Rhythm Nation inspired dance routine was a tribute to Janet. In case you haven't realized, MTV is still boycotting Janet for no reason, why Justin is getting all the publicity in the world. On Beyonce's All Eyes On Me special that came on a few weeks ago, there was supposed to be a segment including her rehearsing for her VMA performance. She said she was working with one of the choreographers from Janet's Rhythm Nation, and it was a tribute to her. However, MTV cut this part OUT of the show, because they are still boycotting Janet. Not to mention, Beyonce was scheduled to OPEN the show, but they pushed her performance back and gave the opening slot to Justin as ANOTHER slap in the face to Janet.

So, let's end all the hate right there. Beyonce killed it point blank period. She was the best of the night, and she was not copying wack ass Britney Spears.
