Background to this thread:

I started seeing a trauma therapist in late 2019. As part of the treatment she send me to a doctor to discuss supporting the the therapy with anti-depressents, which is why I started taking them in early 2020 against depression and anxiety.

Note: This wasn't the first time I used anti-depressents. I had taken a package of 50 tablets about a year before. During that time I was completely impotent, and couldn't orgasm no hard I tried.

Therefore when started again last february, I was less surprised by the fact that I found ejaculating more difficult, and more by the fact that is actually still was actually possible.

Fast forward a year: I completed the treatment a week ago, and things have changed a lot. I am horny bascally all the time, which was far from the case before. Since I know (partial) impotence is a common symptom of anti-depressents, I figured it's because I'm off the meds now.

My question to the community is first of all of whether it is normal, and someone has perhaps made a similar experience; Also whether I should take it as a good sign or whether if it's potentially even dangerous. In any case I'm also wondering whether someone know if and how long that might last.

I should add that I'm also worried how it will affect my relationship!

Side effects on libido and performance are a common complaint of SSRIs. The complaints vary from increased libido to anorgasmia (inability to acheive orgasm). A common complaint in men is that they can get an erection but have a feeling of detachment that prevents them from reaching climax.

If you're off the meds and you're now feeling an increase in your sex drive and you're able to climax, is this a problem for you and your partner?

When I was using Zyban (Bupropion Hcl) as a stop smoking aid I got horny as hell.
It was the only time I ever blew two loads back to back without losing my boner....... (!)

For a time I was two other anti-depressants that killed my libido....... :(
