I got hooked on Art Bell's Dreamland radio show about 16 years ago.

Yes I am!!! I got to meet George in Austin this past March! I got a picture with him!! haha I can't believe I have never started up a thread like this.

I've been listening to Art Bell since 1998. I've mostly enjoyed his shows about Ghosts and the Paranormal, plus some of those Caller's stories are really nice to hear, about the Shadow People, and other things related to that topic.

I started to listen when George took over in 2003. I liked Art Bell, but not as much as I like George.

I drift off to sleep every night listening to Art Bell and George Noury. I began with Art many years ago when he did his broadcasting from Las Vegas.

IMHO... when Art Bell was on top of his game he was the best in this type of late night radio, George is just adequate at best.

I try to listen to the show, but in my area Philly, the radio station begins it at 2am. :( So sometimes I'm already asleep.

They cut out the entire 1st hour of the show. :(

I used to work at an AM radio station that carried Art Bell. I was often stuck on the "Art Bell" shift there, which basically meant you had to sit there for 27 minutes while he talked, then play a couple minutes of commercials, then bring the show back up. Stunningly exciting, especially at 3am.

Every once in a while, the satellite feed would conk out. That happens. Then the phone calls would start. "What happened? Where's Art? What's going on?" I got tired of patiently explaining what actually was happening, so I began telling them, "The Grays cut the connection. Art is getting a bit TOO close to the truth."

They seemed to like that answer more.

I used to read or draw or write during those long shifts, but from time to time, I'd actually...well, not "sleep" really. Just lie there on the floor on a sleeping bag. I never missed a cue, so I apparently I could conk out for the right amount of time. Once, my boss (for some reason) came in at 4 am to find me lying on my back on the floor.

"I can't believe it!" hey elled. "I come in here to find you lying prone on the floor when you're supposed to be working! What do you have to say for yourself?"

I looked up at him and said, "I'm not prone. I'm supine."

He thought about that for a second. "Well, you got me there," he said, and walked out. Never heard anything else about it.
