Any fans of Xanadu? It was a flop at the box office. But, it had Olivia Newton-John in it. This was right after Grease and before Physical,so this movie could have gone either way. ELO and ON-J side was awesome I remember getting the record this was before CD'S.

I Like "Magic" by Olivia Newton John, but thats about it

ok, i have to admit i thought the movie was terribly cheesy... but damn! do i loooove that soundtrack!

the movie itself is a huge cult classic.. kinda like rocky horror

oh i know!

the thing is i saw xanadu as a kid when it first opened. my mom bought me the soundtrack on 8 track (god, i'm really dating myself here...)!

years later in college i watched it again and wow! it was sort of hard to watch it again.

but i still love that soundtrack. the music was the thing that hooked me in the beginning. i've got it on cd now that 8 tracks have fallen out of favor. ;)

I'm interested in see the live version on Broadway, which is supposed to be very satirical and witty.

As for the original, I enjoy Olivia's medley near the end of the movie.

The song Magic is the standout. It is sublime. John Lennon proclaimed it the song of the year.

don't remember the year it came out but loved it. Good blend of old & new. need to get a copy & watch again. One of my failings is movie musicals.

I've seen all the classic campy bombs. Mommie Dearest, Valley of the Dolls, Showgirls, Glitter, Supergirl, The Apple, Mame, Eyes of Laura Mars etc. You name it, I probably saw it. Except this one. For some reason I've always had an aversion to this movie.

I'm interested in seeing the broadway show because I hear its really funny. And the lead guy is gorgeous. I'll have to see the movie first though.

ONJ'S daughter has done a cover of this song (magic) apparently on her forthcoming cd....

I remember seeing this movie in the Theater. The music was wonderful. Magic and the title track, Xanadu. I have the original movie poster with Olivia Newton John..
