Any interest in a frenuloplasty diary?

I'm going to get a frenuloplasty done in the end of this month/early August. Unlike most that get this surgery done, i'm not getting it because i have a short frenulum. I''m doing it because my frenulum is slightly twisted to the left and over the years the pressure of this twist has made it very sensitive (light pain during sex and some soreness after).
It's not a very common procedure and there are few reports of the healing process and/or impressions of before/after.
I have managed to find some of those impressions, mostly early complaints of the discomfort post surgery, but most online forums won't allow pictures of that nature, and for those that will have the surgery, pictures of the healing process and how it looks after are probably important (i am very curious about how it will look, i have seen many pictures right after the surgery, but i haven't been able to find one after the healing process on an uncut guy).
I'm going to take pictures everyday to keep a personal diary, but if there is interest i can make a thread with the pictures and any relevant information about the healing process (pain, discomfort, etc).

In this forum, we try to offer information that others might find helpful. Specific to procedures on the penis, we try to keep it fact-based and we have had other members post about their adult circumcisions, why they had it, how they made the decision to have it, as well as information about what the recovery process was like.

If you want to post about your frenuloplasty, that is fine. We don't have a thread that is solely about frenuloplasty.

The only thing that I could caution you about is the extent to which you post pictures to accompany the thread. Not everyone is comfortable looking at post-surgical pictures, so keep this in mind on the accompanying pictures. I think everyone would be interested in a before/after set of pictures to see what it looked like before the surgery and what it looks like once it is healed.

Use discretion with any "recovery" pictures- if they help support the words about how you're feeling and what it like to take care of a frenuloplasty, then the pictures are fine. In most cases, the words will be fine without a lot of explicit pictures of the healing process.

I can have the pics in a dropbox folder and just link it in the thread (with a NSFW/visually unpleasant warning), would that be ok?
I only thought of doing it, because i did a lot of research about it and couldn't find much to help me, and there might be, eventually, others in the same situation.

Edit: Or inform in the thread that i have pictures in a dropbox folder and those interested can PM me for a link.

Either is fine. The key part is that people need to be warned of the graphic nature of the images.

Well... things moved faster than i was expecting.
I had to spend next tuesday morning in the hospital to do pre-surgery mandatory blood tests and other exams. Then after the doctor received the test results the urology department would phone me to book the surgery. So i was thinking it would be in the end of the month.
Today i got a call from the hospital saying that since i was spending tuesday morning in the hospital, to stay in the hospital, not have lunch and to be at the surgery ward at 14h.
I asked why so fast? What about the blood tests?
They said that the only blood tests that really mattered for this surgery were the basic ones that they would have the results long before 14h and that because my surgery was the simplest one they had in waiting list, they would do mine first and it would have been done before if they had opening for the tests earlier :(
I wanted to prepare for staying 4 weeks with no sex (a.k.a. sauna visit before the surgery) and get entertainment (games, books, dvds) to keep my mind off sex, but now i have pratically no time for this. :(
Bummer!

Best of luck next Tuesday!!! ..|

Most people would be jealous of someone who could live their adult life both circumcised and uncircumcised.

Personally, I'm not one that enjoys graphic photo's -- however, I truly hope that you have a speedy recovery and can truly enjoy your pursuits.

Also -- 4 weeks without sex for most couples could be due to something as simple as a minor disagreement. So -- Don't sweat it!

Keep us updated!

:):):)

Thanks! :)
It's not as easy as it sounds to switch between cut/uncut. There is always 1-2 weeks of losing sensitivity as the glans become more keratinized when "becoming" cut, and 1-2 weeks of regaining it as the skin renews when "becoming" uncut (this process might actually be longer, up to one month, the info i found on this was very mixed).
The doctor said that after the stitches fall off i can try masturbate lightly once, to relief tension and to start to get a feel of how it works with no frenulum, so it's only 2 weeks without sexual pleasure (4 weeks without real sex), i can live with that.
My concerns are the erections during the night that i can't control and might damage the stitches and that it might look visually unpleasant after it is healed. :(

I'm looking to get this, a dorsal slit or prepuceplasty soon. Just struggling to get a doctors appointment which I need before I get a urology consult so this diary would be good for me.

I masterbate up to 3 times a day if I'm not working. I'm worried I won't be able to resist or my sexual tension will start coming out in the things I say to people. I'm surprised at the length of hospital stay and not eating. I thought that would just be for an internal surgery. I've never spent any time in the hospital and wondering how I could explain to people my time away because I'm not really into saying I'm getting a kind of penis surgery.

Please detail what it's like moving around afterwords/going to work/day to day business/pissing. This whole thing sounds a bit daunting.

I can relate to that... my doctor requested the hospital urology appointment 2.5 years ago! I could have done it privately, a frenuloplasty is not as expensive as a circumcision, but since it's something i managed to live with, i just waited.

The long stay in the hospital is only because they decided to do the surgery in the same day as the mandatory pre-surgery tests. In a normal case you would go there one morning to do the tests and then some other day for the surgery.

The not eating, and staying there a few hours after the surgery are generic instructions for surgeries the nurses give on the phone. For this specific surgery, the doctor said would be able to go home less than one hour after the surgery and i could drive myself home, the penis is not a stress point when walking/driving or 99% of the tasks of a daily routine.
The eating "rules" are related to the anesthetics, not to the surgeries themselves (well... in most cases).
Many hospitals give generic rules like this:
If you are having local anesthesia, you may eat before surgery. Do not have a large meal immediately before surgery.
If you are having local anesthesia plus nitrous oxide, do not eat or drink anything for two hours before surgery, except water.
(i copied this from the website of a hospital pre-surgery instructions page)
One of my friends had a partial circumcision done, he only stayed in the hospital 1h after the surgery to make sure there was no bleeding (a circumcision will cut veins, a frenuplasty is less likely to need to cut any vein) and then he took the bus back home.
Which is much more dangerous than driving in my opinion! In my car i'm not at risk of taking a stranger's knee into my groin if i need to brake suddenly!
