Ive not one here for a very long time at all.
Ive had ibs for so long but five years ago my doctor finally sebt me for tests and, it came back that I did have ibs after spending two years tell my doctor I had it.
I was told I had chronic ibs and no pun intended it has been a pain in the ass. I have lost about 9kg from it I did need to loose some weight but, now it very difficult to keep any form of weight on.
Im on medication for it but thats dosent always work I have been various diets to help. I dont eat any form of white gutten based products and have very little caffeine, no alcohol at all very little dairy not fried stuff at all.
But back to square one again ive lost another 2kg in a week and have other problems with internal abd external herrriodes.
I eat more than the five a day in fruit and veg and keep a high fiber in take with lota of oat based food and flax on my food, I drink at least a 1.5-2lters of water a day. And have even had fiber gel liquids, still jas no affect on the ibs.
I try to lead a stress free life style as possible but you cant always do that.
I know its a long post and if you have made it to the end thanks you.
If anyone has anything experience of things that help im all ears.
Thanks

One of my partners has ibs. Instead of just radically limiting your diet, test your foods. Some foods are worse than others and it's often an individual thing. Keep a journal on the fridge with the ingredients you consume for each individual meal and write down how your ibs reacts to it. Vary your recipie ingredients, that way you can narrow down the culprits. And don't drink 2 liters of liquid if you're not thirsty, that's unhealthy. For dairy you might also try lactade, there might be a double issue there of lactose intolerance to go with your ibs, depending on how old you are. Those hemmoroids aren't helping - the less you want to use the bathroom the more difficult it is to eat. That goes as well for the weight loss, you're worried about it, write down the problems as they come to you. I suggest trying to talk to your doctor about this in a more in depth manner, try taking a list.

I recommend lowering your fibre intake considerably by cutting out all vegetables, and oats. Too much roughage in ones diet can irritate the intestinal system. Also reduce your fruit intake possibly to one apple daily.

Experimentation with various foods, and drinks will ensure that you eliminate those foods that cause your bowels great irritation.

Esomeprazole is the standard medication for IBS, sold here in Greece under the Nexium label..effective in treating the symptoms, and reversing the damage to your stomach, and colon.

The remedy is in your hands...for there is an enormous amount of conflicting advice how to effectively come to terms with IBS.
There is no cure for IBS...but with careful experimentation you can eliminate most of the foods, and drinks that trigger this most painful, and disturbing condition.

ive cut out everything that dose give me flare up of ibs. ive spent the last two years swapping and changing my diet and got it down to what it is now which works 80%of the time.
Regards the water i have a phyisical job so im always thirsty so im not drinking to much liquid, but somedays i do drink more or a little less at times.
I was told up up the fiber intact to try and see if you would make my bowl not regualr that not the right word as i am regular down to the hour but to see wheather having more fiber in my diet would clear me out a lot more as im never empty if you get me.
It all started up again when i moved back to the UK so my doctor has commented it could be a perservitive with some foods, I try my hardest to make sure everything i eat is fresh, food and not out of a packet. But that can be quite hard to do as who want to always make pasta source from scratch all the time.

Online information is very conflicting with physicians offering advice encouraging their patients to experiment by eliminating those foods, and drinks that trigger IBS episodes.

Ensure that you take Esomeprazole 30 minutes before your breakfast, and evening meal. This drug does work by easing the symptoms, and repairing damage to your stomach.

You might also consider eliminating all sugars, frutrose, artificial sweetners, and honey. Stevia would appear not to be a trigger.

Out of curiosity, what tests did they do?

Weight loss is not a typical symptom of IBS. IBS can have some dramatic fluid volume fluctuations but overall, body weight tends to be more consistent in the long term.

On the other hand, weight loss is typical of other disorders like celiac or ulcerative colitis.

I had full sets of bloodys for celiac and colitis also for chrons, also they had a stool sample to to send of for testing.
The wait loss can also be due to job job that is very physical most days, I also work 7 days a week.

This last flare up has been one of the worsed and still getting the odd pain from IBS, with talking to my doctor all my symtems pointed to chrons and ibs but the chrons test came back clear.

They werent to worried about the weight loss as i had been making a consertive effort to losse wait and my weight is correct for my hieght and my IBM is well below the exceptable range if that the right word, but the doctors and nursy's seiad that it veyr very good to have such a low BMI when i was in for an operation.

I know one on my biggest triggers is stress which might be contobuting to the drammatic wieght loss at times.

I can deal with the pain thats fine for me i can hurt enough pain wise at work due to the job.
It was just to see what people have found usefull that I may not have thought of as I know everyone is different.
