The only one I can play on my system is the original Sims. I used to have a lot of fun creating stuff (furniture, clothing, etc.) for my game. I used only male characters after I figured out how to play the game. (I deleted all the female characters and clothing and such.)

Love the sims. Not looking forward to the third game though because the creators removed a lot of content before they went gold and are planning on making a lot more expansion packs to cash in. Also nodding the game is suppose to be more difficult but who knows they might come out with some tools. Also the sims 2 works just fine for me And I don't see what 3 will have to offer but less content and prettier graphics.
Also a version of the game was leaked and although it is unsure on if it is the final game or not but it was really buggy and glitchy. But who knows I'll have to wait for the game to be released and playit before I make a decision (obviously).

Yeah! I got hooked on Sims 2 back in January.
I don't see how the third one could get much better. I think they are touting more user control of everything. But if one pokes around the internet there are countless mods for Sims 2 to allow...well...user control of everything.

I do love the Sims. But here is how I play it...
I will have itunes running in the background with some of my latest fave music. And I'll spend hours creating the house. From scratch. Sometimes it takes more than a day depending how creative I am feeling. But once all the decorating/buying furniture/building windows/doors, etc, I lose all my interest in playing.
It's all about the house building for me...

I have no clue what a "sim" is.
I'm forever playing it...
But, I only use it for pictures to illustrate my stories. Although, that does entail making sims (lots of them) and building all the sets which takes a lot of my time.
People go on about legacies and stuff but I just don't have the patience.
Have pre-ordered Sims 3.
