anyone else get embarressed blowing their nose loud?

Hi , I usually have to blow my nose a few times each day and I'm a loud honker when I do and I get embarressed, does anyone else? It seems like not many guys blow their nose in public. Anyone got any thoughts?
 
I'm really bad about this, I have to go to the bathroom anytime I have to blow my nose.
 
I have a similar problem, being very laud when I blow my nose too. But unfortunately I'm also allergic to something in the kleenex so I try not blow my nose very often, otherwise it just makes things even worse.
 
I can never do it in front of somebody, for some reason. Must have my back turned or preferably, behind closed doors. I also sound like an elephant screaming when I blow my nose. Seriously.
 
I'm glad it's not just me then! mind u one thing I've noticed is that a lot of guys in Britain seem to just sniff rather than blowing their nose. Surely that's gotta be more annoying hasn't it, having someone nearing you sniffing all the time, rather than pulling out a hanky or tissue and having a quick loud noseblow?
 
Well, in my family, all of the kids received proper etiquette training whether we wanted it or NOT!

You were NEVER allowed to blow your nose at the dinner (or any) table....you must excuse yourself and get permission to leave the table to go blow your nose where it was NOT heard by people eating, else to ruin their appetite with your horn-blowing!

Today.......I canNOT blow my nose at the table when I'm with other people...
I guess one never forgets their manners wherever/when ever they go!
