Anyone has an ebike?

^ Wow, unfortunately that seems to be true. Exercise doesn't seem to be doing much to loose weight for me.

Take a typical candy bar, like say a snickers. You will have to run somewhere around 5 miles to burn off that energy. It's just easier to not eat that candy bar.

I'm a fitness freak. My boyfriend will tell you the gym is my 2nd home. I wasn't always this way. Once upon a time I was horribly out of shape with a basketball for a stomach and noodle arms. I tell you this to let you know I've been there and I know what I'm talking about.

You need to take control of your eating habits. And you do this by start training yourself to interpret hunger pangs as an FYI and not pain. Most people when they get hunger pangs they interpret it as pain and they will do whatever to make the pain go away. Hence they eat too much. But if you treat hunger as an FYI, then you can control what and how much you eat.

The other thing you can do is do weight lifting to gain muscle. Muscle is more calorically expensive to maintain than fat. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will be burning while just existing. I have a lot of muscle so I get to eat a lot more than a skinny guy without getting fat.

It will not be easy. And it will take a long time. For me it has been a 15 years journey.

And if nothing else, my murderous eyes should motivate you to start.

I had a e bike and it was fun, that is until my bottom and balls objected to the torment of the seat. I couldn't find a seat that didn't hurt. When I started my lawn care business I lost interest in the E bike.

They are indeed fun and a great way to get off of the couch. Go on youtube and there are numerous vids. about e bikes. For weight loss a combination of exercise along with a decrees of caloric intake works.

My bf and I just rode our ebikes on a trail for 26 miles. Some of it we used assisted and some of it we used fully motorized. When we finished the 26 miles, we still had more than half the battery life left.

This thing is amazing. Like I said. All the benefits of a bike ride on a trail with a lot less work.

Just found out ebikes actually exist about a week ago. Bought one for myself and one for the boyfriend.

Here is a picture of mine next to my truck for size reference.

The whole thing is about 50 pounds. We spent about 4-5 hours yesterday riding them. Amazingly fun. You get all the benefits of biking with none of the work LOL.

There are 3 ride modes. Full paddling, assisted paddle, and fully motorized. My bf was using the assisted mode most of the time while I was using fully motorized the entire time.

I'm surprised how well it works. We were riding for about 4-5 hours and we only used about 1/4 of the battery. Top speed is 20mph. That's just ridiculous how far technology has come. The fully motorized range is suppose to be around 30 miles.

I've already ordered more comfortable seats for us. Other than the stock seats being insanely uncomfortable, no complaints.

If you guys didn't know these things exist, you should check it out. It really is amazingly fun to ride. All the benefits of a scenic bike ride and none of the huffing and puffing haha.

What brand did you buy?

MICLON Macmission 100 Electric Bike for Adults, Electric Bike 27.5", 4A Fast Charge, 36V/13Ah Removable Battery, Up to 44 Miles Range, Shimano 7-Speed Commuter Mountain Bike E-Bike https:******/d/0DqkNYR

I think it is pretty affordable. It's got an odometer. So I've put on about 285 miles over a 4 weeks period.

Thanks.

I found one I like that would work for me (big and tall) and foldable for $800. I am going to watch and see if it goes down in price for Black Friday.

So, the ebike I mentioned in the OP has a top throttle speed of 20mph. Today, I bought 2 new ebikes 1 for bf and 1 for me. Top speed is now 40mph. I tested out today and got up to 32mph before I got scared and slowed down. I think I'm gonna keep the top speed setting at 32mph.

This new bike almost feels like a motorcycle.

I seem to recall reading that there is a difference in licencing for motorized vehicles that will go over 35mph. I'm sure that depends on jurisdiction/location, if it's relevant at all. Just something stuck in the back of my memory.

Usually Class 1 and 2 there are no issues. Class 3, which 40mph would be usually has more involved to be street legal.

So, BF noticed yesterday that the batteries for these bikes say 15AH. We specifically ordered the 20AH version. I told the company we ordered these from and woohoo they are sending us two 20AH batteries and also told us to keep the ones we have. I will connect the batteries today effectively giving us each 35AH worth of battery.

Why get an e-bike? I could see if you had some disability, but if not, then it is seems to me about being lazy and having a new toy.
I used my non e-bike for exercise.

LOL yes it's a toy.

I am disabled, but my main reason for wanting one is in case I tire myself out away from home. I use to like long rides. I assume I still would if I had a trike or e-trike.

Just because it has assist, doesn't mean you have to use it.

One battery arrived last night. And I got to work on my bike right away.

Rhe one under the seat is 15ah. The other one is 20ah. Connected parallel to each other via a control module that makes the discharge from both evenly by voltage. So, if battery A has more charge than B, then it will only take power from A until A is equal to B. Once both batteries are equal it will take from both batteries.

My friend's husband has one that looks kind of like that. It is a gas/electric/peddle hybrid. Is yours just an ebike?

Yes. Just an ebike. I can set in the settings to go max speed at about 40mph. But that's a little too fast for a bike. So I set it to 32mph.

Yesterday, I did a range test with my bike. 35ah battery. Throttle only. I did not help it at all with peddling. All I did was throttled the bike to the next town and beyond. Turned around when it was around 63%. Didn't wanna get stranded with no power LOL.

Here is what I started with.
1000008755.jpg

Rode it at 32mph almost the entire way for about 2 hours. When I got home...

Still at about 20% when I got home after 41 miles. I bet I could get to 50 miles with throttle only.

Normally, I would also peddle. So, I bet I could get about 110 miles with both peddling and motorized.
