No "travel" forum here so maybe entertainment is the best category for this:

My partner & I are going to Key West at the end of the year (Christmas/New Year) but I haven't booked anything yet. Has anyone been there before? Wonder what your experiences were (good/bad & what to do or avoid) & whether we should stay at a resort, bed & breakfast or try to rent a condo or vaction cottage?:confused:Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you been there before? How was it?

We go to Provincetown a lot & been to Rehoboth Beach before. Wondering if things are as casual.

I've only been there once, and it was a stop on the Disney Cruise. To wit, I wasn't there very long, and thus can't give too much info. In addition, we got there within a week or so of a hurricane, and so they were still doing clean up. We ended up walking to that "southernmost point" marker, which almost killed me. Being from Colorado, this whole "humidity" thing is a rather foreign concept. :) We then stumbled over to a place named (so help me) Diner Shore, called a cab, and made our way back towards the ship. Thus ended my unbelievably exciting day on Key West.

...I will now open the floor to questions. :)

I haven't been to Key West in years, but I used to go regularly. I loved it.
http://www.gaykeywestfl.com/ is the website for the Key West Business Guild. It's the best place to start, I think.
If you like P-town or Rehoboth, you'll find some things quite the same. It's surprisingly not much of a beach town, despite being a small island.
The local guesthouses are a good option. Accomodations are usually very nice, and it's just more fun in a gay atmosphere.
I really should go back there myself!
Have a wonderful trip.

I was there once and stayed at Atlantic Shores a gay hotel. What a dissappointment. In fact not many gay bars there anymore. there was one gay bar and one gay bar that had drag queens performing.

There are a few nice museums to visit. Harry Truman's white house, Flagler College, built by Henry Flagler who built the first railway from Palm Beach to Key West. And a few other museums.

:D Thank you to all that replied. Thanks for taking the time to help.

I'm only half an inch closer to making my travel plans so if there's anyone out there with more info, please let me know.

Anyone?
