I liked the movie a lot, though I know most people hated it. I think you have to keep in mind the intentions of the director. It's not your typical thriller.

I just watched it last night. It's about two young, preppy Aryan psycho killers who break into the vacation home of a happy go-lucky family of three. Well they don't so much break in as simply enter through the front door of their unsuspecting victims' home. The two killers spend most of the movie torturing the family with "funny games" which end in deadly ways.
It is so disturbing but so good. You know that the killers' bet that by the end of the night the entire family will be dead will turn out in their favor. And yet, you can't take your eyes off the screen.
It's well acted(Michael Pitt is absolutely creepy) and you really do feel for the family as they await their grim fates. The final scene with Michael Pitt looking into the camera as rock music blares is startling as hell. The movie is supposed to hold a mirror up to the viewer and remind them that watching people be harmed and tortured is not entertaining. And in this case it's not.
But it's still a very well-made film worth watching, though not for the faint of heart.
