Anyone seen Vikings on the History Channel?

I was clicking through the channels and found this show Vikings. Now if you are looking for historical accuracy, look elsewhere. This show is definitely for entertainment only, like most things on the History Channel. We'll see how close to the actual saga they remain with this venture.

Here's the thing though. Travis Fimmel is the lead character. He is surprisingly good in this. O and Clive Standen plays his brother. So if nothing else, it is 44 minutes of at least a couple of hot guys. O they are really dirty. I mean dirt.

I really can't get into it.

Ive tried to watch the first two episodes on HULU and it just isn't catching my attention. I love timed storylines and the History Channel is usually so good (Hatfields and McCoys). Im going to give it another go though.

i saw the first episode, and i thought it was alright and ill probably watch at least a couple more to see where it goes. but i do find it a little hard to root for pillagers (and rapists... although the show will probably leave that part out, i imagine). also, the story seems to gesture vaguely into a religious direction, and im pretty sceptical about that. im interested in norse mythology, but if this is gonna be a story about how the vikings adopt christianity, then im outta here.

I have been watching it. And really surprised at Travis Fimmel acting...a lot better from his other acting jobs.

I agree it needs to pick up, and I think it will. The first few episodes just has to set up the story.

I like it so far and Travis Fimmel is still sexy. I think things are going kind of slow so far but I can't wait to see Ragnar defy the earl and go to war with him. It's senseless for Ragnar and his crew to keep plundering just to give their spoils to the earl.

My favorite part so far was when Ragnar and his wife invited the priest to bed with them . I would have said yes so fast without thinking. I wonder if Ragnar would have played with the priest himself.

A historical fiction series that has been on the History channel for a couple months now.
Tonight is the season finale, based on the ratings I'm assuming it will be back for a a second and third season.

So, finally had a chance to get caught up on this show. Inaccuracies aside, the production value is amazing.

^Travis Fimmel (CK model) Who plays Ragnar, the lead role; is not bad at all, he does a pretty good job, his eyes are bewitching. One of my favorite scenes during one of the episodes is when he first captures his slave, he is banging his wife and then they appear in the doorway (naked) of the slave's "room" and ask him to join them...ugh, so hot.

^Interesting little fact:
George Blagden who plays Athelstan, the slave, is openly gay IRL. And he's a hottie!




The relationship between Ragnar and Athelstan is really quite intriguing, makes me wonder if we're not meant to believe there could be something more going on than just friendship....

Season finale airs tonight at 10pm eastern on History Channel.

I've seen parts of it, but haven't watched it regularly. From what I seen it does look surprisingly good. I remember a few weeks ago seeing a scene where Ragnar asks Athelstan to have a threesome with he and some girl. He turned it down (he was a monk).

I have seen it from begiining to final episode for the season. It's ratings are very good and it has been renewed. I love it. Travis Fimmel is excellent, the scenery incredible with top notch photography. I like the cast and the turn of events, the almost mystical quality, the gritty wear.

Now priest if Ragnar Lothbrooke had invited me to his bed I would have been there before 'join us' was out of his mouth.

The series is interesting. It is all over the place as far as being factual. I understand that the writers incorporated a lot of different things to flesh out the story and give it some sexiness.

I mean Travis Fimmel is a hot guy. Clive Standen is a hot guy. I've never been overly impressed with either of them as far as actors in previous attempts. I've always been of the opinion that they got any job based solely on their looks. They are actually pretty good in this.

The production design is very good despite historical inaccuracies. The battle scenes are a little gratuitous as far as the violence but I'll give them that.

Love the show but also the guys are hot as especially those with beards/facial hair.
Personally like Clive Standen the best but let me know who gets u hard.
