Apple announces Windows browser

Works like a charm, except all the menu bars are in english -hope they release a swedish version soon.

Oh, and how come i have a different menu in the apple one?? Like it has 'Open Buddy List' in the apple one but not in IE, and thread tools are at bottom in Apple

i just downloaded it and am really liking it thus far!

the interface is very much like itunes.

not that i can time this or substantiate this, but it does seem to be going pretty quick!

i tried firefox one time and i could never get it to run right.

it kept crashing on me.

finally i gave up on it and un-installed it.

Who needs Safari when you can just get Firefox?

Because Safari is the most standard compliant browser there is.

Try taking the ACID2 test at:

http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid2

As far as I know, Safari is the only browser to render this correctly.

It works by using extremely complex methods to create a smiley face. Here are some examples:

This is it in Safari and shows how it is meant to be displayed.

This is in Firefox. Slight display errors.

And well this is Internet Explorer 6...

I've just noticed you can use the Mac method of downloading Youtube videos and other media that is embedded.

Window -> Activity

A window will pop up all you need to do then is find the media (It should be the largest file there) and hold down Ctrl and double click on it.

while it might pass the acid (which firefox3 does as well) test it doesn't pass my test. um .. this is alpha software at a maximum. it's much worse than the mac version! i'm kinda irritated that you all don't have any problems, i have lots of display issues at various websites (i wonder if that does mean that you will need a safari-windows and a safari-mac version of each website?)

apart from that .. i don't really think there is much place for another browser, so they better have some killer features in the final version.

I'm having problems too.
It crashes about 30 secs. after it has been started.
Happened for the last 10 times now.

i've encountered a problem... whenever there is another window opened as a result of a web page sign on (gmail) and i'm asked if i want the program to 'remember' my sign-on it shuts down.

hmm...

I just switched to Safari 3 beta for the Mac. Seems to work the same as 2.0.4.
Renders ACID2 correctly.
Camino is another one I like. Firefox is way slow on my machine, a Windtunnel G4. IE is hopelessly slow.

Ive returned to I.E, all Apple things crash on my computer after a while, probably my computers fault, but yeah ill be interested in it again when its out of beta!

I installed it out of pure curiosity. It crashed immediately.

same here LOL but I gave it a try. Doesn't work nearly as fast at Firefox on my PC when I first visit a site... but it is speeding up A LOT as I go along

after the amount of zero day exploits for this browser I promptly dumped it to keep using firefox which for me is much faster to and much safer as well
