Apple Employees Denying Computer Virus

Lmao... here we go again. :) Same old tired argument. Same old non-facts.

This topic raised my interest, and so I had a Google around. The only recent study of laptop failure rates I found is this one by Square Trade ( a warranty analysis firm) from a little over a year ago.

Interestingly, Apple come 4th in the study, after Asus, Toshiba and Sony.

The lesson learned there is never buy an HP - with a failure rate of more than 1 in 4 machines within 3 years.

You should get a MacBook Pro. Just a few screws and you can swap out the drive and RAM in minutes. I put extra RAM and a 500GB SSD into a friends MBP a few weeks ago, took about 3 minutes. And man, that machine flies now!

Feel free to post some statistics from another source, as you obviously feel mine is "twisted". Not sure why you feel it's "sketchy" - their methodology is listed in the PDF and seems sound.

^ probably the best post to end this ignoble thread.

Andysashi probably can confirm it from multiple discussion, or you could just re-read the start of the thread: I myself oppose a lot of things that apple does. Mainly in terms of software and politics though, but still you wouldn't ever see me dishing out the low-blows like that.
It is great if you can put your heartblood into something like that, but this discussion has moved way beyond pointless. Even if anyone of you would have brought up the one all-disproving fact against the other side, the other side never would have accepted it.

As I said earlier ... I kinda like those flamewars, and I imagine every computer-geek does. Often you can learn a lot from debates like this. At least until a certain point. And if you are willing to. We are past that point. Especially if you bring in disagreements from other forums and are mainly concerned with discrediting each other instead of moving the discussion forward.
I really have enough of that .. you ignored my earlier warning and just moved this thread into a further downward spiral. I won't tolerate anything like this from either of you, that includes a possible continuation of this dispute elsewhere in the forums.
