Apple ripens in the workplace

I just think it's funny mac freaks are always quick to point out how much "better" they are than windows, and then a few seconds later, tell you how great they are because they can run XP now too. ](*,)

I'm not a "mac freak" but am very happy I switched from windows.
Haven't had a problem yet unlike my dell pc running XP.

I just bought a new macbook, its really sexy but I am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles and i cant get my wirless router to work properly. Anyon want to come over and show me?

I'll do it for nuthin if you pay the airline ticket:-)
Is it an Apple Extreme router or wot?

Its a netgear one. Tomorrow I will go back to the guy who sold it to me and offer him a swap, if he comes and fixes it all up, I'll give him a massage. Doesnt hurt that he looks like a young david beckham lol

A netgear router? With an Apple? ah sunshinesteve what did ya go and do that for?

Seriously though - If you post a new thread you'll get loads of help.

There's a default IP address and supervisor password for Netgear routers - are you able to access it via a cable?

Are they not compatible, they both came from the same shop, which only sells macs?????
My main trouble is that with all things technical, I NEED to be shown, I am technologically illiterate and none of the computer speak registers with me. I seem to have missed technology by a year or two.
I cant even make my dvd recorder work:confused:
Thats why I havent asked for help in a thread.
Sorry Sheep, didnt mean to hijack your thread
Steve

That's OK SSS
I had a netgear wireless and I couldn't get it to work wirelessly. I had an engineer friend come set it up for me as he was using one. He couldn't get it to work. I gave it to a friend whose b/f was a network manager and he had no luck either. Pay a few bucks more and get the Apple one. They are easy to set up--and they work.

If the guy can't make it work, massage both shoulders and his buttocks at the same time.:sex:

Technically almost all WiFi gear should be compatible sunshinesteve. I have a Netgear WiFi Router and it was a bit temperamental but it works fine. The Apple products can be a lot less hassle but I prefer to get into the nuts and bolts of stuff.

You didn't answer the question sunshinesteve - can you access the router using a cable?

What model of router have you got?

Maybe a mod could split this stuff from your thread sheep?
They should work but are difficult and they have their fair share of duds, so get the dude from the store to get it working before you give him the massage.

I have no problem splitting it or even changing the name of the thread.
