Arachnophobia in one easy lesson

Theres an island off the coast of Brazil called Ilha de Queimada Grande where this would actually happen. Nicknamed Snake Island its home to one of the most venomous snakes, the Golden Lancehead, but not just inhabited; over run. Apparently there are places where there's one snake for every square metre. Due to the frequency of snakes the Brazilian Navy has banned people from going onto the island.

There's a story that a lighthouse keeper and his family once stayed at the islands lighthouse and during the night the snakes got in and attacked them. They fled the lighthouse, but fled into the snake infested forest where they were bitten to death. Kinda like your dream, just without Snake infested waters.

Not meaning to scare you or anything, just your post reminded me of the island.

Oh god... Maybe I was them in a past life, and I am now reliving the events of my past life...

Great picture!

I do agree; it is kinda cute. Cool colours, too.

As to the topic at-hand, I can be creeped-out by spiders, but most of the time I'm fine.

There was this orb weaver that made a home out on my deck. It was possibly the coolest thing ever! I would grab a couple beers and sit on the deck at night and watch her make a new web. When I found nasty creepy crawler things in the house, I would feed her. Then the cold came and she's gone. Hopefully there's eggs and I'll have more friends for the summer.

Since you can't see the video, this is what happens. A woman is taking washing off a clothes line outside and putting it into a laundry basket which is on the ground. A large female Sydney funnel web spider leaves her burrow, makes her way across the grass, and into the laundry basket, where she disappears under some clothing. Then the basket is carried indoors, and the laundry dumped on the living room floor, for sorting.

While the family's attention is otherwise engaged, the spider emerges from the heap of washing, marches across the living room carpet, and into some slippers lying on the floor. The daughter of the house, not guessing of the deadly denizen in her slippers, puts one on, then the other, and screams...

Sorry folks. I don't know how to copy and re-upload to youtube, but if I do - you'll be the first to know!

Maybe if you do a youtube search on "Australia Backyard Killers" you'll find something viewable...

Here's a good one that just caused me to cancel my plans to relocate to Australia. I guess I'll have to settle for Mexico since I'll only have to watch out for kidnappers who like to decapitate people.
