  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Are Gays Bipolar?

Agreed.
[shakes fist at the pill pushing bastards]

I just want to say this thread has nothing to do with me questioning my sexuality! I do at times question my mental stability in handling issues that depress me. That is what this was all about.
My original question was do people think this is more prevalent in the gay community, due to the stigma society puts on us and the difficulties we deal with that straight guys don't deal with.

My apologies.
My comment was meant as a jibe towards psychiatrists, not you or your sexuality.

I am. But it's a mental health thing, not a sexuality thing. Everyone has the opportunity to be a fuckup.

Nope. Only prefer the South Pole.

:D

I prefer man pole. ;)

Seriously, not sure if I'm bipolar, but I do have a bad tendency to make the positive better than it is and the negative worse than it is. Sets me up for terrible mood swings.

Makes life 'interesting'.

The only Bi-polar people I know (2) are straight...

...but then, outside of JUB (ie, in "real life") most of my friends are straight. I have 2 or 3 (remarkably well adjusted) gay friends. That's all.

If you'd read it properly Croynan you'd have noticed that he did say it was people he KNEW. So in his own personal experience, that was the case. He didnt generalise society.

I read it properly, there remains in the context of the entire posting that homosexuals are more inclined to psychiatric problems in general. So what if a lot of persons he knows are in therapy, it shows great thought on their part for taking control of their lives like that. That it should some how or another come as a surprise, leaves one with the feeling that people are not aware of how extensive our mental health issues are in this country - and I am not just referring to just homosexuals.
