Relax, man. It's been three weeks. :)

One thing you need to know about Tucson - or any city, actually. There IS no gay scene. Or, to be more accurate, there is no ONE gay scene. There will be specific things for gays, and other things that are "gay-friendly", but none of them are required attending. Just like strip clubs aren't "the straight scene", gay clubs won't be "the gay scene", either. You can go to any of it, all of it, or none of it - your choice.

Certainly, going to the gay club(s) will increase your odds of meeting somebody. But it's not your only way. Does Tucson have a "gay section" of town? If so, swing by. Just wander around a bit. Check out the shops, the restaurants, the bookstores, the coffee shops, what have you. You might find a nice place you'll like to come by from time to time.

If Tucson doesn't have that, you're still not lost. There's always online personals, gay groups (google "Tucson gay (activity)" to see what's available), volunteer groups, what have you. You'll find some. :)

Tucson is considered by many to be "gay friendly". There is positive and continuous cooperation between the gay community and the city police dept.
There are 7 (or more) gay bars.
We publish a free, weekly gay newspaper "The Observer" which advertises gay venues, promotes gay events and has a whole page of LBGT organizations and events.
We have also had sporadic and isolated individual acts of violence against gays but none were organized by gay hate groups.
Fourth Avenue between Speedway and 10th St is considered our Greenwich Village with many business which are gay owned and operated or at a minimum gay friendly.
 
Any town with a major university in it (University of Arizona, for example) is chock full of gay men.

From personal experience, Tucson is no exception to the rule.

Now get out there and meet some.
 
lots of eye contact mean they are interested, so go up to someone if they try to make eye contact and are actively noticing you. Feel their energy and be confident. Even young pretty guys like me have a hard time finding someone despite my youth and looks I have been single a long time. Go to the gay activities groups, a walking group, a gay volunteer group, definately get that free gay newspaper and go to each of the events at least twice to check them out.

Dont be disheartened by anything or anyone, there are hunnies out there and there are less than nice people. Be careful and be out there, and dont base it all on changing your body, you can be an average body and still have a lot of fun.
