I always two-flush out of a courtesy to my cat who will only drink from the toilet. Once bought her a high-priced water fountain that filtered and aerated her water. She refused to drink from it. She is 9 years old and never been to a vet except for her kitty shots and neutering. So toilet water must be healthy for her.

Healthy pet bugs and beasts have always drunk from puddles and ponds, and eaten whatever remains of food where available to be given or left for them... heck, even people could live on that and be healthier than feeding on tacos and Pepsi.
