Title says it all. I'd rather know than not, but I'm betting they aren't. Rather safe than sorry.

My ex- and I ran to a convenience store one time early in our relationship and could only grab Fire and Ice. Because we are both "vers" people who subscribe to at least parts of Hammurabi's Code that ended up being an unqualified and uncomfortable disaster by all accounts.

All of the major condom brands are safe for anal sex, in terms of function.

However, for some reason the condom makers still haven't figured out that gay people use a lot of condoms and it would be smart to make and market condoms specifically for anal sex.

Instead, they have a type of condom that is ribbed and marketed as "ribbed for her pleasure" which is supposed to provide more stimulation and friction for the vagina (another brand as a type called "rough riders" that is the same idea). While there are some people who would enjoy additional friction for anal sex, most guys are looking for a smoother, less friction-y experience when they're getting fucked, so the ribs on a condom is not practical for anal sex.

Ditto for condoms with ultra-thin, nonoxynol-9 or pre-lubricated condoms. For anal sex, a more resilient condom is needed, so ultra-thin is the opposite of what is needed. Nonoxynol-9 can be irritating to the anus. Pre-lubricated condoms don't have nearly enough lubrication for anal sex.

Your best bet is the plainest, simplest condom- no nonoxynol-9, no ribs, regular thickness and a receptacle tip.

would agree that extra thick ones are best. As mentioned the extra pleasure ones for aimed at woman not us men. Never used one not too sure if it would casue problems, maybe could lead to bleeding with more extreme sex

I don't know I have the Trojan-Enz non lubricated for my Dildo play and even those seem ribbed. I would think about getting the lubed ones but have no idea if the lube is water based as my toy is sensaskin and silicone on that is a no no, and I know I would need to add more lube but sometimes the extra would be nice.
