Autechre (music)

Awesome. These guys are genius. A new form of classical music? They have invented a new form of music. No one matches them. Autechre is consistently challenging and innovative. Quaristice is their best release in recent years. I am so pleased that they are still putting out quality product 16 years into the game.

Very cool, umop. Autechre speaks to me in a way no other musical group does as well. They are difficult and it is not surprising that a thread on Autechre on JUB does not elicit much interest. I think most posters are into Mariah Carey, Madonna and popular music.

It's late in Cowtown and I'm off to bed. Let's keep this convo going though. Maybe others will join.

Tri Repetae is good, I went through that album a long time ago.

I don't have much exposure to electronic music, and when I listen to it, the choices seem to be in Brian Eno and Kraftwerk. Maybe I'll look into Autechre again since being reminded of them.

says alot about the people who read the "music" forum that you had to make clear in the heading what you were talking about.

great to see gay young man into something more cerebral than the usual crap that is rihanna, britney, janet, spice girls and all the rest.

I saw Autechre perform in Chicago a few years ago, during their Draft 7.30 tour. It was a lowkey performance. They just walked on stage about 1:30 AM with no intro and started working the decks. Dance music? Not the set they were playing that night. Still the beats were visceral and you could feel it through your body. It was a packed house and everyone was frenetic.

I hope they tour the US with this new material.
