Baby its cold outside

It looks like the whole country (and Canada) is in for a snow storm. It is suppose to snow for 36 hours here. We have 2 feet of snow but it could be so much worse. Feeling thankful in Vancouver . . . but ask me in 36 hours ;-)

Here in the UK we have had our 'extreme weather' for this year. Just a mere -4 degrees.
Nothing compared to what the NW US is expecting
Stay safe and warm guys

I thought you lives overseas. Do you? And how cold is it?
yes live in songkhla 1000ks from the equator this month its rained everyday lot of flooding cold yes socks overcoat in the home
i posted this thread the bbc said a snow bomb thats new to me

We do have an unusually cold and big Siberian cold front in the U.S.

I live in the South, and even we will have temperatures with lows of -22C and it will not get above freezing here for three days. Extraordinary for this far south.

My home only has an electric heat pump (two units) so I rose at 3:00 a.m. and built a fire in the large woodstove in my basement (finished room). It is roaring toasty now.

The whole frostbite thing is bullshit. They are hyping the weather a lot on network TV to keep old people glued to the set.

I lived in Alaska for over two years, and we had temps significantly below these, and wind chill, yet I never knew a soul who got frostbite. We wore clothes. Brilliant!

There may be snow on the rooftop but there's still plenty of fire in the furnace.

It's not just the cold. It's the wind that comes with it and makes the cold so dangerous. Trust me on that one.

I have a bad habit of not putting on gloves and one time I thought a few fingers were gone. And it was my right hand. :(

It's 49ºF right now and is expected to be 13ºF by midnight.

Before you start your engine, don't forget to give your horn a toot to alert any stray animals looking for warmth.

It's TRUE. Especially if you know of a lot of cats in the neighborhood. I had a white stray under my wheel well that I seen his tail sticking out Thank goodness. Skinny and dirty and very people friendly.

I fattened him up. He even let me give him a bath. We kept a warm spot in the garage for him but he wanted to roam free. Last I seen of him he brought me 3 decapitated chipmunks to our BBQ. :(

Still in the negative digits. Wind gusts over 50 mph with sustained winds of 30. Wind chills -35F.

50 car accident nearby on the Ohio Turnpike with one fatality. The highway is completely shut down.

It was 8F when we got up and dropped to 3 and later to 2F (that's -16C). We didn't get much snow but it rained last night and froze under the snow. The wind wasn't as bad as they predicted, but it was bad enough. They were recommending to not go out today unless necessary. The only time I left the house today was to go to the mail box.
