Bale: "I will quit Batman as soon Robin steps in"

Re: Bale: "I will quit Batman as soon Robin steps

Are you out of your mind?? What have you been putting in that tea overseas?

Robin is bad enough ... and you want to introduce Batgirl?

Why don't we just bring in the Bat-hound from the old comics while we're at it?
There was a bat hound!?!?!

Re: Bale: "I will quit Batman as soon Robin steps

"Okay Bale, we're offering you 30 million dollars to star alongside (insert teenybopper actor here) in Batman 3. He'll be playing Robin. Do you accept?"

"No."

"50?"

"When do we start?"

It's all about money people. This guy'll be eating his words soon enough.

Re: Bale: "I will quit Batman as soon Robin steps

It would be like saying Sure I'll play Han Solo but if you insist on Chewbaca than I won't play the part... COME ON. It's a fundamental part of the cannon. How can you say one man dressing up like a damn fool and fighting crime is perfectly logical but TWO now you're just going too far... that's madness. I mean it's not suppose to be entirely plausable or logical. It's a superhero movie.

oh please, get off it.

the character of the batman is more than strong enough to carry a film by itself without the addition of robin. the cast of characters in the series thus far is already fairly dense. to add another one in for the sake of history would more than likely weigh the film down.

I'm not saying Batman NEEDS Robin. What I'm saying is to cut off an entire established character simply because you don't feel like dealing with it is laziness and scapegoating. Like Robin was seriously the problems in those movies and not the fact you had freakin' Arnold Schwartzenager's brilliant performance of Mr. Freeze? Please. Robin is a perfectly workable character and to mandate that you refuse to deal with him is just childish and egotistical. The reason these ones pop more than other films in the series is because what is behind the villian. Not what sidekick's are there. Not how it's packaged. The fact it deals more with deeply rooted societal problems and not cockamamy schemes about freezing the world or catwoman's slutty antics. It's a trend: Cloverfield resonated farmore than the crappy Godzilla remake in the mid 90's. Ironman's far surpassed the quality of most other superhero movies. Spiderman 2 was massively superior over the farce that was Spiderman 3. It's because they dealt with deeply seeded underlying issues of their day.

And yes Paxton. I'm casually this bitchy, especially when the apparent article, links no sources, and is less than 8 lines of text.

Just for the record: I've got better things to do in life than go around faking entertainment news.

And please, try to :D more often... I promise it won't hurt you.

Oh, I'll show you something good.
If you open your heart
You can make a new start
When your crumbling world falls apart...

well then by your rationale we should be able to incorporate batwoman, batgirl, bat-mite and ace the bat hound. they may not be in the current context but they are considered cannon. i'm sure that will all jibe well with the current direction nolan has. the comic is called batman. not batman & robin. as much as i like robin in the source material he is a supporting character. so if nolan and his writer(s) choose not to include robin then i'm fine with it.

I'm not saying if they write another movie without Robin I'd be outraged. I'm saying for an actor to take a part and then refuse to continue that part if a cannon member of the series is introduced is nervy.

How about we comprimise, and they make a Nightwing movie. lol

A "Nightwing" movie is a great idea. That will give Robin a better chance to achieve his superhero status instead of playing his usual sidekick routine.

actually i think his character would lend itself to a great ongoing tv series. imagine if they went urban crime drama with tom clancey's splinter cell? maybe air it on showtime or some such.

I don't think Showtime would commit to a superhero show.

I hate to say this, but Fox seems like the right fix. A Splinter Cell type show would be kick ass.

Remember that show on the old WB, Birds of Prey?

Re: Bale: "I will quit Batman as soon Robin steps

I think Bale just dosent want to be in some corny whack ass shit Batman @ Robin was sooooooooo corny with Batgirl and Mr Freeze.

Mr. Freeze is actually one of my favorite Batman villains of all time. The problem was the way he was portrayed in Batman and Robin. If they would have went the dark route with him, and portrayed him more similar to the version in the Animated Series, he would have been great.
