I know this issue appeared a couple of times, but I'd like to ask individually
Maybe it's too early (i'm 20) to consider this problem, but my peers and younger friends already have full beard. I've always wanted to have rich facial hair too, but I don't have any! Only moustache area.
My testosterone seems to be at normal level, because in other places on my body hair is growing normally.
So. here is my question: If it refers to genetic aspect (my dad doesn't have full beard), is there any possibility that my beard will grow in the future?
My partner laughed, when I told him about it. He says that I am hot without beard and it's good that he only has one :D

Maybe when you start balding your facial hair will grow in...but for don't worry yourself about it.

Yeah, I started one of the other threads and the results are:

1. Not much you can do about it.

2. Rogaine has WEIRD ASS side affects, like hair on your eyelids and forehead.

Two things. Firstly, I think there is a genetic aspect to beard growth. If you've inherited genes which don't suit you, you're kind of stuck with them. Secondly, your beard may continue to develop into your mid-twenties. As you're only 20, don't give up yet.

I'm 34 and have new facial hair still coming in on my beard.

Wait until you become a Creepy Old Fart.

Hair will grow in places you didn't think even existed. :(
Except where you want it to :D

What you have now at 20 is probably a good indication. You shouldn't expect any dramatic increase over the next few years.

Oh jesus, so I won't try any special meds etc. Thx for warning :)
So all I can do is to wait. If there is not any hair, I'll have to accept this. Thank you for posting :)

And even more regrettable, it falls out from the places you would really like for it to be.

As the others mentioned, there's two things to look at:
  1. How hairy the men (and women for that matter) in your family are
  2. Whether you have normal body hair patterns on your groin, underarms and legs

Genetics is really the driver. You will only be as hairy as the other men in your family are. And if your family is from eastern asia or certain areas of northern europe, changes are that you're not going to be very hairy.

Rarely, there are guys who have low testosterone counts but it would have to be very low- to the point that you didn't go through complete voice change or develop hair elsewhere on your body.

Everyone always wants what they don't have. There are plenty of guys who would kill to have a light beard and to regain those few extra minutes of sleep that are instead spent trying to shave off stuble that will be back in a few hours.

When I was twenty, I had to take out my passport to prove I wasn't below eighteen.

I shaved less than twice a week.

Now I'm wearing a beard (see my avatar). I'm 32.

I'm not sure if it will happen to you too. (For instance, my husband was born in Ecuador an barely shaves).

What I do know is that if your beard is coming, it might be a decade or more before you can sport it with a little confidence.

So don't hold your breath.

Thank you all. So there is an one option to solve this (But I don't think i will be so despared to do this) a hair transplantology. Anyway I personally think It will create more side effects than help solve my problem, so let it be as it is. The most important thing is that my partner is ok with that :)

Everyone always wants what they don't have.
Holy words. Big point here.

I have 5 o'clock shadow at 11 in the morning. I wish I didn't grow a beard so easily:rolleyes: Ever see that Simpson's episode where Homer shaves, wipes the shaving creme off and his beard pops back out? That's me.

That being said, much like you I hardly had facial hair when I was 21.

Be careful what you wish for.
