Comedy doesn't get as classic as this. The original Abbot and Costello routine. It doesn't matter how old you are, everyone should see this at least once in their lives. I've watched it AT LEAST 50 times and it always makes me laugh.

Thank you for posting that.

Now that I have watched it once, it means that I never have to see it again - load of unintelligible bollocks that it is.

Wow, I expected some better reactions to classic play-on-words comedy. I guess it takes a certain sense of humor.

Doesn't begin to compare to Benny Hill, does it? The Brits are so noted for their subtle sense of humor.

Probably the most recognizable comedy routine ever. It's always funny, no matter how many times I have watched it. Thanks for posting.

I think you'll find we stopped watching Benny Hill about 25 years ago whereas BBC America finally dropped it just last week.

Now if you want some seriously genius comic wordplay...

The diff between Benny Hill (which is awesome) and "Who's on First" (which is a classic) is that people will still recognize this bit in 100 years. It's truly one of the great comedy pieces of all time, even if it is a little tame for today's audiences.

Of course it's scripted and rehersed, you can tell that when Costello messed up one of the lines (when he says the guy's name is 'Tomorrow' when it should have been 'Today').

Like somebody else said, it's a classic. If it was half as bad as some of you grumpies say it was, I bet it'd still be remembered today as arguably one of the most well-known comedy routines in history. Sorry the lack of sex-talk and vulgarity back then wasn't to your liking.

Thanks for posting this. I've seen one version or another probably 50 times in my life, and it always makes me laugh. It is certainly the funniest and most famous duo routine in entertainment history.

<me love abbott and costello

and "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" was cinematic art.
