I've been really tired for the last week. I'm getting plenty of sleep (or at least no less than I usually do), but I'm still just wiped out all the time. I slept all last night and all day today, and I still feel so beat. I don't really have any other symptoms, but I'm worried this could be a symptom of something. Anybody have any experience with something like this? If it keeps up much longer, I guess I'll make a doctor's appointment, but would like any info anybody could give me from their personal experiences.

Yup. If it persists, get to the docs.

I have had a similar feeling, too and ended up being diagnosed with a serious 'burnout'. Gee, a complete break from it all did me an awful lot of good...

Could be the weather, season, etc. You could also just be tired and need a good rest.

If it doesn't let up give a visit to your local doctor. (I love visiting my hot doc.) Lasting fatigue is what usually sends many of us for a checkup. In my case I discovered I had Hepatitis C. If you are under 40 chances of it being that are slim.

play it safe and get a check up. My bf was feeling all blah for while also and he found out had a blood pressure problem he didnt even know about. He 's now on 2 med's and he hates it.

Yeah, the possibilities for fatigue are endless. It could be any of numerous reasons... physical, emotional, mental. I once was tired for over a month before I realized I had mono... boy was that fun. I'd say if it is really bothering you and you are abnormally tired, check with the doc. He/she may not have an answer (b/c that is a broad complaint), but they can do some simple things to rule out stuff pretty easily.

checking with a doctor is a good idea--- hopeful that is just post-holiday mid-winter blahs

Fatigue or malaise is a good indication something is wrong, but other than that, a pretty crappy diagnostic criteria because of a seemingly endless things it could be.

Illness could certainly be one. Your body could be trying to fight off something that hasn't quite broken out to full blown symptoms ala a cold virus, flu, etc. It could be mono or pneumonia as well. When I was a Freshmen in college is was dead tired all of a sudden for a few days but that was my only symptom. My mom who is a pharmacist knew what was going around and had me go to the doctor to get checked for mono and pneumonia (I couldn't fathom how it would have been mono, but better safe). Turns out I had a mild form of pneumonia and at its worst just gave me a bit of a cough. But I was as tired as I ever have been.

Stress certainly can cause fatigue, as can depression.

If you don't feel its something like stress, I would go to the doctor to get checked out. If it is something your body is fighting off right now, you want to get medication for whatever it is before the microbes start winning the battle (assuming they do).

Probably a winter thingy (there I go again speaking with clear medical authority!) Get some vitamin B complex - you'll be 'right as rain' in no time. Try Berocca...
