What was the best horror film that came out in 2010?

Let Me In was my favorite horror film of 2010.
Stephen King named it the best film of the year and the best horror film of the decade.
I was not a fan of Let the Right One In.

Let the Right One In: Definitely NOT best horror film of the decade. But it wasn't bad.

Not many especially notable horror films in 2010 that I can recall.

I haven't finished Let Me In yet. I may tonight since you mentioned it.

Biggest dissappointment: Elm Street remake--crap!

I'm the biggest Alexandra Aja fan but was disappointed with Piranha. High Tension is brilliant. One of my favs.

Have you seen Martyrs, Frontiers, and Inside? Three great french horrors.

Oh, I liked The Collector.

I honestly haven't seen any really good horrors last year. I'm a big horror fan but, last year seemed to be an excellent one for sci-fi/fantasy.

Strangepoetry:- i agree with you about N. on Elm st.

Also agree about Frontiers, nice and tidy little film for those who can handle subtitles.

Rec and Rec 2 are good spanish horrors.

You're right. Last year was shit for horror.
We can deffo exchange recommendations, tho.
I haven't seen Rec 2 yet. Enjoyed the first one. Will try the second on your suggestion.

Have you seen Eden Lake? What'd you think?

For 2010, I think Aja's Piranha. For me, the film delivered: good performances, lots of gore, and plenty of tension.

I haven't seen Let Me In yet but I'm a big fan of the original. I'll rent it on DVD.

And if if I did include remakes Let Me In and Piranha were the only good ones.

let me in freaked me out....i was like one of four people in this massive theater...the night after i had to walk like a mile or so in the dark all alone...it still creeps me out to this day

Just finished Let Me In. It was fantastic. Liked it better than the original, which is unusual.

Yeah. If you enjoyed Rec then the sequel should go down a treat too, i'd say that its as good as the first tho my fave of the two is Rec because the sequal is the explanation film if you like.

Have you seen Quarantine? It is the american remake of Rec, follows the film almost identically. I thought it was just Rec by a different name the first time i watched it lol. Naturally, as an american remake, it overdoses on action which wasn't even in the original. Rec is better.

I have not seen Eden Lake actually, no. It was recommended by a friend at work. I however was offput by its plot. This is largely due to the fact that i watched a film released much later which focused on evil kids. The Children. Didn't like it.

My next recommendation to you if you haven't seen it is Shutter. You'll appreciate it only if you liked The Grudge and the Ring as its in that vein.

Currently on the hunt for Rec 2. Wasn't able to find it yesterday. Will add Shutter to the list--I liked both Grudge and Ring.

And Eden Lake isn't centered on kids, per se. They're older. Very late teens. May as well be adults. It was quite brutal, I thought. That's what I enjoyed about it. Same reason I liked Aja's High Tension and Hills Have Eyes remake. And the french films I mentioned earlier.

I saw Quarantine. It was watchable. Fair, but basically unnecessary if you've seen Rec. Added English language, that's all.
Wouldn't add it to my DVD collection.

I came across Stephen King's top 10 movies of the year.
3 of them were of the horror/sci fi genre
#8 Monsters
#7Splice
#1 Let Me In
Has anyone seen Splice or Monsters? were they any good?

i have seen splice .. it wasn't bad .. but not really horror either. still enjoyed it :)
