I'd avoid physical scrubs on the face, as this skin tends to be more sensitive. If you're looking for exfoliation, I suggest a beta-hydroxy acid product for exfoliation inside the pore, and an alpha-hydorxy product to exfoliate the surface of the skin. Paulas CHoice has both of these products in the proper concentration and at the proper pH to work effectively. Actually, any of the skincare products from Paulas Choice is pretty good.

Her website is at www.cosmeticscop.com

For acne, I have used Proactive and had good results. It's expensive, but it works and makes the skin look much better. Not just for acne, really.
A friend of mine has started using it also and while I thought he was perfect to begin with, he says he's happy with the results.

As for body wash, I was goint to try the Nivea advertised for grown ups. I like the ad.

I use a St. Ives apricot scrub for blemishes (I don't actually get blemishes or anything, but the others were for oily skin which I don't have, and the other was gentle, and I always believe 'gentle' products don't do much).

After that I use a L'oreal Men Expert moisturiser :)

Go to: http://www.lorealmen.com/

in the bottom right corner click men's expert. Those are great products and the website has a lot of great tips on it.

After the intro video click the link for Kyan's advice. It will walk you right to the products you need for your particular situation. I've been using the products for about 6 months and I can definitely tell a difference.

For shaving though, I use Lab Series Maximum Comfort Shave Creme. It's really really good stuff. Pricy but a little bit goes a long ways.

right now i've just started( a few weeks ago) to use the Acne Free system....it advertises that it's more effective then Proactiv...and it's a whole heck load cheaper and available in stores. I've had pretty good results with it so far...I'm not fully clear yet on my face but it's about 75 percent better then it was...my forehead always was red tiny little bumps type of pimples...stuff that wasn't really noticeable from afar but I could see it so much up close in the mirror. So i'm using that (it's a cleanser, refining toner and moisturizer)

as for body wash I just changed to Neutrogena Grapefuilt Clean and Clear bodywash...I don't really like it so far....I've actually broken out a lot more since using it. I would like to use the Acne Free on my body(it says it can be used for back and chest as well as face) but the bottles are so small and it's tough to get the cleanser and stuff on my back.

I really like Neutrogena. The face scrub is very nice

For the past year i've used Clarins Mens products but I am thinking of switching to another product for my forehead....which started breaking out back in May and has still not totally cleared up.

As for shaving though I absolutely love Clarins Men and their Shave ease lotion is a charm!

BTW....can anyone recommend a good daily cleanser? I have a good moisturizer and exfoliator but need to find a good daily cleanser.

Which one of the Loreal Men's products do you use as a daily cleanser?

I use Dermologica's Daily Clean Scrub and Neutrogena's Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. I also use the Body Shop's shave cream and Neutrogena moisturizer for sensitive skin (even though mine's not... but it's unscented).

And I use Aveda shampoo.

you guys are soooo gay.

just get a bar of soap, and use it TWICE a day like they taught you in the puberty class in junior high. works just fine.

except my skin is so hypersensitive I can't use just soap. It's not vanity, it's trying not not make my skin hurt.

then soap + lotion?

i dunno...i've never tried any of those products.

Soap should be avoided, as it has a high pH, higher than that of the skin. The skin is actually slightly on the acidic side, where as soap is alkaline. Using soap can throw the skins pH balance out of whack.

I use clinique men's face scrub. My mom bought me a little kit one Christmas, and it has been the best facial cleanser I've ever used next to Proactiv. It's far and wide better than anything on the shelf at the drug store, all of which I have tried because they are less expensive than clinique. Everything at the drug store is too gentle and/or leaves some kind of residue that makes my face feel oily and my pores clogged. Clinique actually does everything the other brands claim they do only much much better, i.e. clearing out pores and blackheads, refreshing the face, lifting up hair for a closer shave, and of course exfoliating. I wasted $60 on all the $5 crap products at Walmart, Target, and CVS and finally bought a $15 tube of clinique a couple months ago. It does such a good job making my face feel light and not oily that I only have to use it every other day.

umm, low maintenance is best.

dandruf shampoo, soap, moisturizer(1 litre) for shaving and for face, thats all u need.

Bars of soap are terrible for your skin. They give you acne, dry it out, ruin it.
And they never taught me that. AND, furthermore, if you're going through puberty, nothing could be worse for your skin than soap, it will give you acne like you wouldn't believe.

I changed my routine to Nivea mens face wash and Nivea for Men moisturiser.
