which Nelly furtado Album do you think is best?

Although 'Loose' and 'Whoa nelly' were huge i think 'Folklore' is by far the best although it didnt do that well!

Whats ur opinion?

I like a lot of the songs off folklore. I think it didnt do so well because eitehr she wasnt mainstream yet or the songs werent really top 40 material at the time. I think if she re-released some of Folklore it would do better. I really do like to Loose too. Man eater.....thats my theme song right there.

I haven't heard the whole folklore album but I did love her first album. The reason her second album didnt do well was because it didnt get promoted and she was pregnant at the time. Loose, I had to warm up to because she made her sound more mainstream. It ended up still being a good album but it was missing the vibe her last two had.

I couldn't stand the first CD "Whoa, Nelly!" when I first heard it - I've never heard "Folklore" - but "Loose" is superb, not a duff track on it. Because I liked "Loose" so much I revisited "Whoa, Nelly!" but I still can't get into it:(

Was Folklore released in the States?? I don't remember even hearing about it until when Loose almost came out. Her first album is great but I really love Loose!

I like all her albums, but “Loose” is her most successful worldwide to date. It’s interesting that when some of her singles don’t go to #1 here in the United States, they go to #1 in other countries, like for instance, “Say It Right”, which is her latest single here in the U.S., is at #4 and is still trying to get to #1, but it went to #1 in New Zealand and even though her previous single “Maneater”, didn’t go to #1 here in the U.S., it went to #1 in Chile, Poland, Portugal and the U.K. “Promiscuous” was the initial single here in the United States and it went to #1. “Promiscuous” also went to #1 in Canada and New Zealand.

The singles from her other previous albums didn’t go to #1 here in the United States, but "I'm Like A Bird" and "Turn Off The Light" from "Whoa Nelly!" did make it to the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Those singles and even singles from "Folklore" did go to #1 in other countries.

Just listened to Folklore for the first time (because of this thread). I think Loose is her best album, but Picture Perfect may well be her finest song.

I like them exactly in the order they came out. "Whoa, Nelly!" first, "Folklore" second, and "Loose" third.

Her first CD was really well done, especially considering her age at the time. I'll go out and say it's her smartest album. While I think "Loose" is good and fun, you can't compare the songwriting in "Loose" to her first 2.

folklore is the BEST!
i am still thinking does loose worth to buy, cause i don't like the mainstream music these days, and who knows whether loose will be re-released after adding a couple bonus tracks, -------you know a lot of artists do this , which is insane.

Folklore. She shows her true artistry there, incorporating a bit of everything into the songs there. Plus, the songs on there were more universal and could be related to by just about everyone, on just about every subject. The topics brought up by songs on Loose are very limited, with the exception of maybe one or two songs. Whoa, Nelly! was great, especially considering the maturity she brought into it at her age then. However, Folklore is a real great mix of maturity and childhood naivety. I just, I love it so much.

I like Loose the best, but really all of them are great in their own ways.

I think Nelly Furtado's mainly a pop artist. Her very first two singles, "Fly Like A Bird" and "Turn Off The Light", were basically pop songs, so I don't think she's selling out really. I think she's just being very creative in her career by including an R&B or Rock tinge to her songs and that's a wonderful thing because it makes her songs sound really interesting.

For her sophmore effort, I think she was doing old-fashioned cultural songs because they've been an influence on her. A lot of pop artists do an old fashioned album in their collection. X-Tina's doing that now with "Back To Basics" and I believe she's released that album to show how much old fashioned music has influenced her.
