I'd heard of four of the nominees. One of them is Ariana Grande, and I'd only heard of her because of the Manchester bombing. I certainly wouldn't recognise her in the street or know her music if I heard it.
A girl came to work and she also worked at the arena where concerts were held. She said they were having problems selling seats for Halsey. This was about a year ago. And yet she performs twice tonight and she has hosted SNL

When I was a child, there were songs in my life that brought me joy and there were songs that imprinted on my life. As I grew up, I learned that there were other people who shared the same love of music. Deep in the recesses of some men's loins, lie the haunting words that give them purpose. Words like "everybody wants to be, be a macho man". A catalysis for this revelation as to how music affected others was a young British boy. He was a hungry boy who held out his bowl, he spoke "please sir, can I have some more?" and sang about glorious food.
Down by the river, lived a sad, lonely, pathetic excuse for a human being named Fabian. He combed the dirty, feces filled water for packets of red powder. On days when his life couldnt get any worse, he might be lucky to find one of these packets of red powder. He would run back weakly to his over-burden mother as she busted out oral pleasure for the neighborhood men. Fabian would watch his mother and think "I want to be just like her one day". Little did Fabian know, but that day would come sooner for his mother needed help pleasuring.
These men that she pleasured were of weak mind and sickly bodies. But the men's bodies had what Fabian's mother wanted . . . a sexually transmitted disease. Fabian smiled upon his mother every time he had to help her clean out her 'cooch'. "This is what men seek", Fabian's mother told the young, witless boy. But my 'cooch' is only for your father, she said.
One day, Fabian asked his mother for the packet of red powder. Are you sure this is what you want Fabian's mother asked him. "Yes mother, this is what I want". Fabian's mother would hand him the packet of red powder and Fabian ventured to the riverside. He would need water to combine with the red powder. "Its time to die my raggedy ass hair" he said to himself. Fabian would die his hair as it framed his face, which sported a weak goatee.
Fabian would gather bottles and collect piss from his mother's Johns after each had jizzed on her. Fabian discovered that piss would color his hair platinum white. Fabian was a true vision. A sad immature goatee that framed his mouth and the packets of red powder and the John's piss he used to color his hair. After all, Fabian wanted to be a pretty girl. And as deluded as he might be, Fabian dressed in the clothes given to him by his mother and Fabian dreamed of the days when he would gather jizz and piss from the locals.
By now, you must be wondering if there is a moral to this story. As the author of this tale, I tell you that there is . . .
