does anyone else on here struggle with binge eating? i've been dealing with this disorder for a while and it's made me entirely miserable. i've gained about 30 lbs since january. i've been on a ton of other sites, but i think just getting some advice from JUB might be a little more helpful. thanks guys.

Oh I deal with it every day. My weight goes up and down, it's an on going battle.

I work out every day, and when I slip up I try to do more exercise to make up for it.

At my worst I had a massive break down. Ate 1 large pizza, 12 crazy bread sticks, 3 plates full of chinese buffet, and a plate of desserts. . . all in 3 hours.

Since then I have been to the doctor, been put on a medication for depression and it has improved. It's not fixed, but it is SO much better.

i have always had an issue with bing eating. all of a sudden i would go through these cycles of constant eating and then weeks of not eating at all. i think it definitely has to do with mood swings and depression. i try to eat healthier food when i go through those cycles. fill up on fruits, dried fruits, vegetables, high in fiber foods and water or for me diet green tea. i usually try and fill up on good things so they just literally go in one end and out the other. sorry if thats disgusting but true!

I deal with depression and it would be very easy for me to chow down and eat ice cream, cookies, and cake but I would gain weight and its not worth it.

I dont know if this helps anyone but I love chocolate and I buy chocolate that they use in cooking. Its chocolate 'wafers' (thats not the right term) and I will have 5 at a time. It satifies my sweet tooth.

I heard about the following practise on a talk sow. I forget which. There are people who chew food and then spit it out. So they get the taste of the food but not as many calories as if they swallowed the food. I tried it once or twice for curiosity sake

I ahppen to have to binge eat at least 2 days week just to maintain my weight. Im 6ft tall and weigh 68kg, which is not much really, about 140 lbs.

The best thing is to control it as best you can and do something else. Also check for nutritional deficiency as this can cause a lot of craving. Fill up on raw veges and fruit if you just have to eat something

I HAVE YOUR ANSWERS
binge eating is fancy word for a "hunger pang" these you have to avoid at all costs, this can be very serious to many people, infact if you eat for then u are supposed to each day you can develop loops in you intestine backing up your digesting food. he is how it is supposed to work

ages 0-3 or 4 eat 5 times a day in order to be healthy

ages 4 or 5 -12 or 13 eat 3 times a day with regular snacks supposed

teenaged years eat 4 main meals a day with snacks snacks

adults are to go back on to the 3 times a day deal.

back the hunger pang thing you have and by all means have to eat breakfast. thats is so crucial that if you miss it you metabolism will dramatically plummet for the day. milk or orange juice egg and a fruit is all you need, no pop tarts or candies or sweets what so ever. after that you should give yourself about 30 mins to digest the go on to a small work out wether it be milk or orange or burning fat. after that you may feel hungry AKA getting a hunger pang, DO NOT LET IT OVERCOME YOU instead u could have tea or water and no food at all though. after that workout u may precede to the shower, and then you routine for the day, after that when lunch is normal time for you, you may eat anything you like as long as it is not and i mean NOT to fattening or sweet. im talking 20g of fat max and no more. do not worry from the breakfast you had your metabolism will helm diminish it. try to squeeze in a fruit or veggie, then continue your day, until you get to dinner. at dinner you must include a vegetable or fruit, make sure you meal is medium sized. after that precede to another small work out wether it be going for a jog or a brisk walk, or a home work out, if you wish to lose fat, takeing hot hot hot showers (warning do not actually touch the water) but let the steam in the room open you up and relax as it dose its magic, make sure if you do this to do it for only 30 mins and under. then after that your sleep should be relaxing and easy, in the morning repeat what you did.

but one thing you cannoned have at all. POP(soda) this will have the opposite effect of milk, instead of strengthening you bones like milk would it will to a calcium intake from you bones, and without strong bones the harder it will be for you to over come you pang's. i advise you cut pop out from your life accept for special occasions. you must not give up and you MUST DO THIS FOR AT LEAST 10 DAYS NO CHEATING SKIPPING OR ANYTHING PLAY BYTHE RULES AND IT WILL WORK !!!!

on day will throw you of corse all the way, so be carful.

i wish you all the best of luck.

bulimia is an addiction so is binge eating. you just have to getover it and find another way to cope with your life.

You have to be the one to stand up and have some self control. Either that or get really obese. You need to have some backbone about this!

good luck but the responsibility lies with you and the only thing you really can do is stop your hand moving the food into your mouth. this is what is comes down to.

Nutritional supplements and fruit and veges will make sure you are not lacking in vitamins and minerals

I use to have a problem binging---but I now recognize what triggers it. I avoid situations where too much food is available, buffets, all you can eat places, etc---and only cook a severing size at one time for myself---I remember eating till I felt so sick---I never purged (intentionally) I think it comes from my childhood---we never had much so you ate what you could when you could--
