how are your teeth?

i have been blessed with perfect teeth. Only one cavity and i didn't need novocaine when it was filled it was so shallow

my dad has perfect teeth too, not even one cavity

what about you?

is it a family thing?

I also have been blessed with great teeth..

I do have them bleached, and I have been told that is pretty hard on them...but I love pearly whites....

](*,) ](*,)

caps & cavities due to a certain enzyme in my saliva that is hard on the teeth. it has always been a problem. of course some of it was due to a lousy dentist i had for awhile - amazing every time i went there - there was a cavity. Finally i asked the orthodontist from the name of a new dentist - guess what, suddenly i did have so many cavities as before. Need i say more?

My understanding is that those people with perfect teeth lose their teeth much younger in life then do the mere mortals such as i who have had cavities.

Apparently they just all start to go at the same time and once the process starts you cannot reverse it - supposedly it is also assoc. with the size of - well you know?

hehe

well ive been told by a few dental assistants that you lose your teeth due to gumm disease after a certain age, and not tooth decay.

it would seem that around the forties dental care stresses gumm care as opposed to primarily tooth care

but i am not a dentist

just things ive heard so I could be VERY wrong

I've good teeth. Dont know what a cavity is so im guessing ive not had one!

does England add flouride to its water as the US does?

I haven't had many cavities at all...can't remember the last...but I've had other problems (yet again that I've been born with). Missing a few in the back AND front, all of them a bit too small and spread out...several retainers and braces later, normal...though no cavities. My gums have never been the same after braces though...*sigh*.

Doesn't seem to be a family thing...lots of people in my family constantly have cavities, though not the "cosmetic" problems.

mine seem to be doing well

though most say my bark is worse than my bite

I've had a few cavities filled in my life. But out of all my brothers, I've usually been the one with the least dental issues. You should see my older brother's crooked teeth.

Although lately I've been under the sneaking suspicion that my wisdom teeth will need to be removed relatively soon. :(

Sadly, there's no option for me up there....

I don't have perfect teeth...Due to the condition that they're in...

But I don't suffer from any cavities apparently.

But there are other problems, thanks to a certain dentist whom if I ever find will be fed through a woodchipper...Alive and conscious...And if he blacks out from shock, I'll wait until he's awake again before I keep pushing...

Was that a little too cruel?

yeah, bad teeth are genetic for me. my dad's side in particular, teeth were always a problem. i've had 3 root canals done (2 as an emergency procedure), a few crowns, and numerous fillings. but i've been fortunate to have fairly good teeth (my smile has not been affected, thankfully) despite the many dental trips. :D

I have a few veners , thanks to a crap orthodontist , and bad cleaning from when i was younger for which i now regret

My teeth are a mess. One of my incisors grew in sideways, and I have an overbite, but never got to wear braces. Only four of my teeth (the front ones) lack fillings, I've had six root-canals, one crown, and one extraction that I never got replaced and so the tooth above is has migrated down so I can't do anything about it now. And my dentist informed me last visit that my gums are deteriorating at such a pace that he simply doesn't think he should bother to do anything in there unless it's causing me pain (ohmigod, an honest dentist) because I'd just be throwing good money away on teeth that will fall out in a couple of years. As soon as I can afford it (which won't be for a while), I'm getting dentures.

But then, again it's partly a family thing, partly a behavioral thing. I'm the only one in my immediate blood family who has teeth, my father and my mother and my younger sister all have dentures already. But then, they all used drugs, and certain drugs ruin your teeth faster; I suppose if I'd taken better care of them, my teeth would have lasted a little bit longer.

I have only a few cavities, but my lower front teeth are rather crooked and I have had three wisdom teeth pulled. But my teeth are rather strong.
