Review of ‘Björk’ at the Museum of Modern Art: An Unlikable Crowd-Pleaser
A show that confirms suspicions that MoMA feels a need to stage vapid spectacles.

The critical rage directed at MoMA since the opening of its Björk show has surprised many observers even if in hindsight the reaction was overdue. Years of simmering frustration with the museum as it lurches through a public identity crisis has finally boiled over.

I really like Hidden Place especially after I heard her sing it live.

I'm listening to her new album now and I'm enjoying it.

I really wanted to her perform and catch the exhibition but my schedule won't allow me. Please tell me more about the performance and if you've seen the exhibition at MoMa.

I love me some Bjork and I would love to see her perform live one day.

Listening to Björk's MOMA exhibition through 49 B&W speakers

The exhibition runs from March 8th to June 7th and we were part of a small group of journalists to experience the Black Lake '3D immersive sound installation' at the studio in south London where it was meticulously designed - the first time it's been heard outside of MOMA.

The Black Lake experience is built around the track of the same name from Björk's latest album, Vulnicura, and features a specially-designed 3D soundtrack built for the 49-speaker sound system, and accompanied by a 10-minute video.

This is part of a wider Björk exhibition at MOMA, which covers the artist's 20-year career and features music, videos, costumes and more, and also has a B&W P5-powered audio tour.

björk calls for global action to prevent destruction of iceland’s highlands

Icelandic music legend Björk has already released a limited-edition live version of her 2015 album Vulnicura, but she’s gearing up to release yet another special live packaging of the record according to her online store. There are, of course, the requisite CD and vinyl versions of the LP, but most intriguing of the three items available for pre-order is the “Luxury Boxset,” described as follows:

Re: What is the best Bjork Song?

Dont get me wrong, I really like the girl, cooky vocal inflections and pronunciation, but pretty much every song sounds similar. So buy anything its all good.

Actually not true Bjork is so unique she has some varied albums. I believe an album Bjork got a lot of acclaim for was Vespertine she used cello, and strings and stuff like that. Not all Bjork music is techno. I believe Medulla uses hardly any electronic instrument and Bjork worked with an inuit throat singer on the album too.
